You can live as if there is no God, but that should not stop you from being a good person. Being sinless is impossible, but being a good person is very possible.
As humans, we are prone to sin. We cannot avoid sinning, but we often deny sinning; such as lying, talking harsh, dishonoring parents and worst of all, hating anyone. Yes, it is a sin to hate anyone. It is a commandment to love one another. So, why wouldn't you love others? You don't have to marry everyone, but you can love them and add value to their life and to the world.
I assure you that there is a God in our world and He loves you and I. When you open your heart to Him, you will feel an incredible rush of happiness! It is at that point when you can ask forgiveness for all of your sins, yes all of them, and they will be forgiven! What a deal!
Just open your heart a little bit...a little more, then some more.....you're almost there.
The water is nice, come on in.

Depends on what you mean by "sinless."
A lot of things religious people consider sinful are things I consider to be just fine, like sex and alcohol. I'm not going to give those up just because some priest says to.
However, that doesn't mean I live without ethics. It is to my advantage and to the advantage of society as a whole to live according to the law and various other more or less universal ethical guidelines.
Reverend Lovejoy (on The Simpsons) asked Ned Flanders, "Have you looking into joining another religion? They're all pretty much the same."
Looking at religions' moral prescriptions, that's fairly accurate, excepting certain taboos that aren't really all that logical (again, sex and alcohol spring to mind), we see a pattern. Those values are probably older than religion, and they work pretty well at sustaining civilizations.
I don't believe in heaven and I don't believe in hell, but I do believe in being the best person I can be in the limited time I have.

Well, the concept of "sin" is pretty religious, but there are good reasons to try to do what is right and moral and to not do what is immoral. Some of these reasons are selfish (for example, you want people to think better of you), but not all of them are.
The bottom line is that we should try to do right because we are terribly precious and should not be simply thrown away.
A better question is why you should try to be sinless if you think there IS a god. Is there any reason other than the basic selfish one of wanting to go to heaven?

As i am unsure, I think that I will try and be sinless anyway because most of the sins are against the law and I want to be a good person

If you think there is no God, then you should strive to be a good person anyways. Sinless is impossibles, having ethics arent.

Would you say that a sin is immoral? That is reason enough. I am not worried about going to hell, but here is a shock for you. I do know what right and wrong is and happen to think the "golden rule" which is bigger than any one definition of who "god" is happens to be a good way to live my life.

Because it's good to be good - Plato
If you don't believe in god you don't believe the concept of sinning. You develop morals through common sense, just like Plato figured out in the quote above. Just because someone is an Atheists it doesn't mean they don't believe in truth, respect, love honesty, etc. In fact we believe in them more because we follow them as truths, not laws.
If you only being good because god tells you to, what kind of person are you? Really?

Sinless? Who can be that except for Jesus?
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1)
