Well most 9 year olds do have very hairy legs. I personally think that 7th grade is probably the best time as that is usually when all the girly stuff starts, you start going to the locker room and changing. Another thing I would look at is if she has arm pit hair then maybe it is time cause people mature at different rates, but if it is just normal childhood hair then wait. I would do the armpit and leg hair things at the same time.

Oh, the poor little girl. I would say if she has that hairy of legs at that age, she should be taught to shave. Why make her wait until she is older and go through the embarrasment or comments??

NOW ! It will cause her to be the victim of alot of teasing and at the age of 9, she is all emotions.
I do have a 10 yo daughter that is shaving her legs and underarms because she needs to and it is teaching her hygine as a young woman.

I think its different for all girls but I would say not until 12 or 13. Might I suggest this shave-less kit that uses a thing similar to a razor but is blade-less. If it is really bothering the little girl and she can do it with out cutting herself all up I say let her do it. She'll feel less self conscious and that will make her happier.

I started at around 10 and a half, maybe 11... can't really remember. But as soon as I'd left elementary school I was shaving my legs. I had fair hair and it wasn't a big deal, I just wanted to do it.

I started at the age of 11 because my legs had become hairy. If the girl is comfortable with her legs then leave her alone. (No offense). If she wants them unhairy, then have her mom shave them.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

LOL, that depends on how hairly are you.
Nothing to do with age.
Some girls dont need shaving as much, some do.
9 years old dont need to worry about such things.
Let her decide on her own when she gets older.
9 years old dont need to be wearing mini skirts.
Let her play around in pants, she still just a kid.
