How do I give my hair the messed up look? Its short but not too short?

At the moment I have it in a short mohawk but it looks funny cause the sides etc are long.

Help please.

Get a hair trim to straighten up the cut. Tell the stylist what look you are going for. Use hair gel to keep the messy look.

Have your hair heavily texturized if it isn't too thin too begin with and muss it up with a pomade recommended for your hair type by the stylist. There are a zillion pomades. They are matte, shiney, waxy, pastey, fiberous. It depends on your hair type.

use gel, then rub it in with a dry towel, tweek some clumps of hair with your fingers. also, it's nasty but, you could not wash or comb your hair

put in some mousse and ruff it up.. gel would work too but if it gets too shiny it looks odd

try Garnier Fructis' surf hair.

It's a texture paste that gives a matte effect.

It basically allows you to sculpt your hair however you please.
