Yes , you can get Irn-Bru here in the US. There is a US distributor and can buy over the internet. Some local stores have it also.
Check out Irn-Bru's internet site for a good history of the drink and name.

Irn-Bru is only available in America in small quantities at speciality shops, the US refused the company that makes it (Barrs) from setting up a factory in the US as it would not reveal the secret recipe, under the same legislation that keeps Coca-Cola and Pepsi's secret recipies a secret. (Some say It's because the big companies didn't want another major drink taking up a slice of the market share?)
Irn-Bru, Diet Irn-Bru, and Irn-Bru 32 (the high caffine drink equivalet to Red Bull, so called as Irn-Bru has 32 individual flavourings in its secret recipe) are all available here in Scotland and I urge anyone to try it if you can.
But be aware that Irn-Bru is quite fragile to heat. In many Countrys outside the UK you can get Irn-Bru but it has not been refrigerated on route and the tempreture has got to high, this turns the Irn-Bru off and then it tastes awful despite later chilling, All forms of Irn-Bru must be kept at low tempretures at all times to keep it fresh, I have travelled to many hot countrys and while there tried to get it, only to find that when I get some, It hasn't been stored or transported properly and has gone off despite still being before its best before date.
Another point is that Irn-Bru tastes slightly different in its different containers! in order from worst to best...Plastic PET bottles,Plastic medium size bottles,Plastic 1 Litre, Plastic 2 Litre, Plastic 3 Litre, Cans, glass bottles. there is a technical reason for this, but that's another long story which I'll not get into now.
The advertising slogan "made in Scotland from girders" has long since been replaced with "Original and Best" as many have tried to copy it but none have succeded in coming close, the slogan made from girders was a play on one of the ingrediants as Irn-Bru contains a small ammount of Ammonium Ferric Citrate which is a form of Iron.
A sort of rusty lemonade is a way of discribing the taste or heaven in a glass or yummmy.
Personally I have been drinking Diet Irn-Bru (tastes better that full sugar Irn-Bru) since it came out and drink about 4 Litres a day of the stuff, it's just Great, and if you get the chance to come to Scotland to try it, get a 750ml Glass bottle of Diet Irn-Bru that is freezing cold on a hot summers day. It really can't be beaten!

Nothing sensible to add but has anyone else seen Irn Bru with added caffeine. So that's a drink with higher sugar levels than Coca-Cola with the caffeine levels of Red-Bull. That would make a nutter of the Pope. That said ...

Irn Bru (pronounced Iron Brew) is made from girders in Scotland. It is Scotland's favourite drink, is orange in colour, very sweet and very popular. Sometimes it is fed to the haggis which wander around the highlands of Scotland. It is hoped that it will stop them biting the Loch Ness Monster (Nessie). So far it has worked but who know what will happen next year.

In addition, Irn bru is drunk in Scotland as a hangover cure, it is high in caffeine, doesn't taste of orange although it is orange in colour, and apparently is huge in Russia. Complain to your local grocer if they do not stock it.
