The following passage describes the sickening practice of sex slavery. How can anyone think it is moral to sell your own daughter as a sex slave?

(Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment.

Who ever does such a thing like that will only have to answer to Allah (God) on the last day. We Muslims believe that for every girl a parent has, Allah has made a heaven for them.

I think the fact that this is in the book of Exodus, the second book in the old testement, it is safe to say that not many jews are selling there daughters these days. This is just a part of history. You may not understand it, but I am sure that thousands of years ago it made perfect sense. As far as how a lot of people were treated back in the day I would say that the "slave girls" really didn't have it so bad, seems as though the Jews may have been a bit more humane than other groups of people back then.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2021:7-11&version=9;

Above is the verbatim passage from the King James Version. I suppose it could be translated several ways. No matter how you interpret it, the passage reeks of brutal and shameless misogyny. And this is only one of many morally reprehensible directives put forth in the Bible

Bible thumpers are obviously having a hard time countering your contention. The best they can come up with is, "that was then this is now." Most don't even attempt to address it. They just tell you to keep quite because they know they've been trumped.

The bottom line is: Bible thumpers are always telling us that their holy book says homosexuality is wrong, premarital sex is wrong, stem cell research is wrong, abortion is wrong, and basically not subscribing to Christianity is wrong (etc, etc). If these are all offenses worthy of eternal damnation, then what the hell is going on with their own religion and moral code??? The passage in question was taken directly from their holier than thou doctrine.

Judge not you throwers of stones in glass homes.

First of all, Jews are smart. They sell underage daughters to get rid of them before they become high maintenance bitches. This saves them a lot of money and they also get paid more for the little girls since they're too young to be likely to have aids.

It's too bad how people always talk trash about Walmart and Jews and Mexicans who all give them good deals. If you don't want to buy little girls from Jews, you're free to get them somewhere else. Free market economy is what makes this country great!

Stop the annoying racist crap. Nobody wants to hear it. Learn about what you don't know, don't slander others because you are a disrespectful twit.

Women were the most common slaves back then, now it is not so. Well it shouldn't be anyways, I know certain religions still treat their women as inferior beings and still consider them property. It's wrong, we have just as many rights as the rest of you out there.

Isn't this question biased against the Jews?

If your quotation is indeed faithfully and correctly translated from the old Bible, then bear in mind, it happened in ancient times.

All ancestors do not think like us, it could be a society norm, and if they bother to write down all these terms, it is still fairer than the way the ancient Chinese selling themselves into slavery. Ancient chinese slavery had no laws and rights any better than this.

Last of all, I don't think you can refer to all human characters in the Bible as only the Jews.

This is not a slave as those you maltreated so badly in USA shame on you. It takes too much space to explain it to you. There must be some educated person around you who is able to explain this "slavery" to you. It is NOT what you think, it is much better.

Women have had the short end of the stick for most of history.
Mohammed stopped the practice of female infantacide.
In China today a female infant is easily given up for adoption.
