Probably yes. A bloke at Sainsbury's car park last year stopped me and asked if i could give him some money for petrol (petrol station just next to the car park), as his car run out of petrol and he needed to buy some. He said he left the money at home etc.He was carrying a petrol can. As it was dark, and i couldn't see anybody nearby i gave him a tenner without questioning it too much, in case he became nasty. He promised he'd leave a tenner at the petrol station the following day for me to pick up. Of course he didn't... 2 months later he tried the same trick at a different car park. He didn't recognise me. Well, the bollocking I gave him for conning people out of their money when they thought he was in genuine need for help. I told him to get the **** out of the area or i'll arrest him (no i am not a police officer). It did the trick. i never saw him again. Because of likes of him people wouldnt help you. I still would. Possibly.

No, because there's too many people scamming on the internet. If I knew you or met you and you seemed honest, then maybe (if I had a fiver on me!)
But people do seeme to give to internet pleas, don't they? Everything from paying off credit cards to genuine charities... maybe you just need to write up a hard luck story and post it on the web, see what happens.
If you get money and aren't really in need, you can always give it to charity (ValerieAnn's Holiday Fund would be a good one)
:-)

No.
I don't believe I would be helping you if I did that.
I would only be putting you in a worse situation.
I would probably give you some food and clothes if you needed them or help you find a job so that you could earn the "fiver".
That's all.

HELL NO.
Why would I send you a fiver when I won't even give a quarter to a beggar on the street?

How did you become broke? Through accident or disaster, or by own actions?
I would give you the fiver if you were just having a slump, but if you were to just spend it all on booze or worse...cigarettes! then no.

OK, so you said "if I was broke" which, to me, means that you are not actually broke. Well, I am so will you send me a fiver?

If you could prove to me 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are broke, I'd send you some money, yes. My guess is that if you can afford internet service, you probably aren't broke. :) If you are, you need to rethink your spending habits and start eliminating some of your unnecessary bills.

No probably not. I don't know you and you might not be telling the truth. I'd have to wonder why you'd ask a stranger and not a friend or family member. Isn't it funny how times have changed... used to people trusted until given reason not to trust and now most people don't trust until given a reason to trust. Funny thing this thing called LIFE.

No because I, being a good Republican, think you should earn the money like the rest of us. Don't worry though, there are plenty of bleeding hearts who will send you enough money to keep you going for awhile.

It's really easy to say yes, because I'm buffered by the impersonal nature of the internet, but I'm going to be honest and say no.
There are lots of poor people, some of whom I have a better connection to than you. So, unfortunately, you'd be SOL.
