How is the ACLU involved in this?
Just because the rest of the world doesn't want to attend church services everywhere they go, does not make them evil.
The ACLU has published opinions on over 600 items, about 20 are controversial. Find someone who will express an opinion on 600 topics for which you only disagree with 20, and I'll join you in your shrill preaching.
It's LIBERALS they are against GOD!!! Give me a freaking break. I am a very spiritual person, I pray everyday, I think Jesus was a great man. I think though that you are the people who are against God with your judgement and bile (I know not all Christians are this way, I'm speaking to the poster), I just don't go around yelling at everyone to believe the same way I do and I don't expect them to have to listen to a sermon by me in a public place.

ACLU are hypocritical. They do not want to hear the words so no one can say the publicly.
Free speech is free speech. You cannot silence anyone for their belief.
I'm sure she wasn't preaching to them, just witnessing and thanking her Father.
What is it the school was trying to say and teach?
I'd be questioning their motives.
The ACLU should be behind anyone who wants to speak, as long as it is not meant to hurt or incite riots or danger to any person or property.
Christianity is being threatened.
Turning the other cheek is an option but it will continue.
The only answer is to stand fast and believe the rest will see the truth.
God bless your perseverance.

I understand your plight, but what was done wasn't done because of "silencing" anyone's right to free speech; it was done to not play favorites or offend any non-Christians in the audience. I know it seems that Christianity has been squeezed out by our government(and in many cases it HAS), but the fact remains that not everyone in this country is Christian, therefore they are guaranteed by their citizenship the right to worship God the way they want. Since the girl you mentioned obviously hadn't or couldn't make time to recognize all the "deities" repersented by all the faiths in the audience, in deference to all present and out of respect for THEIR rights, she had to be cut off. Believe it or not, I'm only defending the point of view that is being taken because of the laws of this country being what they are, not because I agree with them. As Christians we are to "obey the ordinances (laws) of the land for the Lord's sake."

I applaud you, God is Love !
It's really sad to see that since 1963 when Church and State was divided for certain that Crime, Sexual misconducts and every other bad thing occurred when God was taken out of Schools. Private schools that involve the word of God in their curriculum have higher average grades than those who don't. It's a proven fact that. It's also sad to see that people are shot down for mentioning God yet they are applauded when they believe in nothing, but themselves.

She had to say a heck of a lot more than "Thank Jesus and God" if the administrators had the time to turn the microphone off.

Thank goodness they did too.
After all, religion has NO place in the classroom just as thinking and ideas have no place in church.
And it's not just the aclu, many of us will make sure that your "message" stays where it belongs, behind the closed doors of a church.
I'm betting that you're a big fan of Fred Phelps huh?

There is the proper time and the proper place for everything. If she embarked on a Christian sermon her speech was rightfully silenced. If it was one small comment, it was wrong to silence her.
Was she preaching her religion or just expressing thankfulness to her god?

here's something i hope you will be pleased to hear. although i do not love your lord, i think that only a bunch of cowards would silence a young girl from saying just about anything. free speech should include freedom to say what you believe.

If she had been ugly (since you're so obsessed with her "beauty"), and if she had wanted to thank the Hindu god Vishnu instead of Jehovah, I'm sure someone like you're pretending to be would be on the side of the school.

As far as it takes. There is no bottom to the depth of their hatred for Christianity.
They ban any hint of Christianity in schools, but then have entire classes that teach Islam.
They claim it's about separation of church and state (which isn't even in the Constitution), but it's really about separation of Christianity and state.
