Apparently, the guy before me didn't even read his own sources before ignorantly posting that statement about illigals paying more taxes. Here is a DIRECT quote of the first two paragraphs in his first source:
"The taxes paid by immigrant households in the Washington region are on par with those paid by native-born Americans, although immigrants here illegally pay less, according to a study being released today.
"Overall, area immigrants pay nearly one-third of their income to the government -- at least $10 billion a year -- but those here illegally pay less than $1 of every $5 they earn in taxes, the report says. That is partly because they earn less but also because many are paid off the books and escape payroll taxes."
This is how the Liberal mindset works. Love it or leave it.
Enact the FairTax. Most immigrants make more money than we do. When I was doing construciton, the illegal immigrants my boss picked up demanded $12 an hour, and didn't have to pay taxes. And they sent half the money home. If we enact the FairTax, then everything they buy will be taxed and we will have no problems. Not only will this increase revenue for local, state and federal governments and helpe the economy grow, we will be able to pay less in taxes, because more people will be paying them. And if someone is illegal, they will not be eligible for the "prebates" that lower income people will get, therefore reducing the benefits to coming here illegally.

Increasing their skills and educating them won't contribute more taxes to the economy because
anything times zero equals zero!
If you aren't paying taxes to begin with, better job skills won't increase the amount of money in the tax base. These people are getting paid under the table. The government has no paperwork record that they are here in the US.
They don't fill out 1099's and W-4's, so they don't contribute taxes. Also, 90% of the money they earn is exported to their home countries and not spent and reinvested in the US economy.
Their labor has benefits, however, their overall impact skews to the negative side of the balance sheet.

I think the immigrants are contributing more in the economy of the country. Locals know the loose ends of the law.

The plain truth is that in an industrialized society, you need to have a certian percent of the workforce be unskilled so those jobs could get done. If everybody was a writer or a scientist then there wouldn't be anybody to kill the cows or harvest the crops (not that I'm saying it should only be immigrints doing that. Preferably there should be a balance of all cultures in all levels of labor)

What makes you believe they need to increase their skills? Have you ever said that too an unemployed American? Most immigrants I know both illegal and legal, come here with a multitude of skills.

Legal immigrants already contribute on average a larger percentage of their earnings in taxes than do American-born tax-payers.
And it might surprise you to know that ILLEGAL immigrants are even paying a LOT of taxes!

Since when does the U.S. government not tax the incomes of blue collar and low wage workers??? There is no correlation between skill level and tax level ... your question is a red herring at best and has more holes than swiss cheese. Sorry pal, ask another question after you've done a bit more research.

Immigrants perform the function that is needed by our economy already. Low paying, non-skillful positions need to be performed by someone. If they had to be performed by skilled people, then we would have to pay them more, and then everything you buy and all the services they provide would cost more, and it would hurt the economy more than helping it. It's the whole robbing Peter to pay Paul thing.

Most illegals have amazing skills. They are experts in masonry, carpentry, tile laying, landscaping, cement work and the list goes on and on.
Who do you think builds the million dollar homes in your area? We should expose the unethical builders who hire them and force them to pay taxes on these individuals. Instead, they are getting rich off the backs of these people and laughing all the way to the bank!
