Astronomy : Muslims have always had a special interest in astronomy. The moon and the sun are of vital importance in the daily life of every Muslim. By the moon, Muslims determine the beginning and the end of the months in their lunar calendar. By the sun the Muslims calculate the times for prayer and fasting. It is also by means of astronomy that Muslims can determine the precise direction of the Qiblah, to face the Ka'bah in Makkah, during prayer. The most precise solar calendar, superior to the Julian, is the Jilali, devised under the supervision of Umar Khayyam. The Qur'an contains many references to astronomy.
"The heavens and the earth were ordered rightly, and were made subservient to man, including the sun, the moon, the stars, and day and night. Every heavenly body moves in an orbit assigned to it by God and never digresses, making the universe an orderly cosmos whose life and existence, diminution and expansion, are totally determined by the Creator." [Qur'an 30:22]

Muslims also made huge advances is mathematics (algebra comes from the arabic word al' jabr,) may have invented calculus, invented reading glasses, in fact invented the methods to grind glass into lenses that were later used in europe to invent the telescope. They also had working medicine while europeans still told people to swallow cattle dung for the plague and drink ground up frog bones for gout. The truth is that radical islam is a fairly recent development, and prior to the 20th century, as a general rule (with many exceptions of course) the islamic world was a progressive and fairly accepting place.

while Europe was in the middle ages Arabic nation made strides in geometry mathematics engineering astronomy ect. the numbers you use today 1 2 3 4 5 are Arabic you will be surprised by want were their achievements. although westerners prefer to forget these ''details''

Muslims made huge contribution to math.
The word Algorithm comes from muslim scientist Alhawarizm.
Math maybe would not be the shape it is now without their contributions.
Christians always glorify christian and jewish scientists but never mention name of one muslim scientist!!!

Christianity contridicts Science, and your basis is the sun and the moon. Laughable at best.
The Bible also refrences astronomy. Why try to convert christians, you should look for people with no religion, it would be easier for ya.

Aztec astronomy far outstripped muslim astronomy. It's a shame that christians destroyed all of the Aztec codex's before we could learn from thier wisdom.
