i can't get one because the only place that does it in my town is a place that only accepts people without insurance and i have insurance..... but my psychiatrist says i need it...

Where I live, if you have insurance through the state, you can get a case worker/manager.
they help you with paperwork, make sure you get to appointments, do weekly checkins with you (more if necessary), help with meds, get you involved in activities, etc.
Mine has been very helpful getting me out of my cave.

Case Managers basically offer guidance, counseling, consultation, and referalls.
