I honestly believe in my faith, don't get me wrong. But, sometimes I wonder if God isn't going to surprise us by letting a lot more people into Heaven then we all think. Just think with me for a moment. He is loving, and merciful, and like all parents He cares for His children. Isn't it possible He is doing to us like I do to my children. There are days when I threaten them with things I would never do. Like strangling them or selling them in a yard sell. I wonder sometimes if we might be surprised who we see in Heaven.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

As I said I believe in my faith but I wonder if He may not be more merciful than we think. I did not state that this was fact or even that I though we were all going regardless of belief. I just said do you wonder..................

I know what I believe in too but I don't know for sure WHO is going to heaven Only God has that knowledge. I leave that up to Him.

Great point!

The God that i believe in has (sorry) nothing to do with the Biblical God. I do believe there is a sort of constant Energy of Love in this universe, which i refer to as God.

If my God and the Biblical God were one and the same, i still do not believe in all those Hell-stories. Any parent, well any NORMAL parent would forgive his/her kids for whatever they do, even if the kids are not even sorry.

So, great point, and i think you're closer to the truth than any of those people who think 90% of this world will end up in Hell for their human mistakes.

btw, don't threaten your kids too much with some yard sell :)
i love kids, and i might end up buying them :p

Jesus says, "Go in through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road is spacious that leads to destruction, and many people are entering by it. How narrow is the gate and how constricted is the road that leads to life, and few are the people who find it!" (Matthew 7:13-14)

Fr. Anthony Coniaris said this: "When a saint gets to heaven, he will be surprised by three things. First, he will be surprised to see many he did not think would be there. Second, he will be surprised that some are not there whom he expected to see. Third, he will be surprised that he himself is there."

I agree with you to a point. Yes, God is so loving and caring towards us everyday. I know that I mess up too many times during the day and He always takes me back. However, the Bible states that He is a rewarder, of both Godly and Evil things. Also remember He is a judge. He is the only one who can answer this question in reality because He has already made up His mind on how to judge us.

Try reading about near death experiences. I'm a Christian and sometimes the way people within my faith choose to believe things doesn't make sense with the claim of a loving God. I felt a lot better about my faith after reading this one especially:

Debra, God also is true to His promises. He promises whoever believes in His son will be saved. Goes does not promise one thing and then change that promise.

Those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ will go to heaven...those that reject Jesus will not. This is how we can be assured of salvation, and not have to guess at it.

Oh, I so understand where you are coming from. I know many of us aren't perfect, but I've known I've done a lot of good. I don't the doors will be closed to as many as we think. I'm convinced I will be with friends and family that have passed and live in peace, finally.

The real surprise is when you find out Christmas isn't celebrated there because the belief system is based on myth, not truth.

I don't think that will happen. He is giving us time to follow him & he says in the bible that when it's time, the people who didn't choose him will perish. He is good & he is fair. That's just what I believe. I guess we'll have to wait & see!
