Life is what you make it no matter where you live. The suburbs are for some, the city (or ghetto) is for others. Better is relative depending on what your lifestyle is, so the only person that can answer that for you, is you.

In the suburbs homes have one family per dwelling and garages for family vehicles. While still having to worry about somebody breaking in to hock everything for drugs, security is better because finding a pawn shop nearby is harder. Somebody broke into my folks home and was caught because its uncommon to see somebody walking down the street or waiting for a bus with cameras and video players under their arms. Distance between people and services are greater, besides schools serving more than one neighborhood. Children are either bussed or carpooled to school and those who are lucky enough to walk, have many neighbors watching to make sure nothing untoward might happen, unlike the indifference one finds in the Ghettos.
Parks are rarely used as drug centers or fight zones and while it does happen the people who participate are so self-absorbed that others can escape easily and report or not report the disturbance. One day I was driving home with my wife and somebody hailed me to warn us that there was a vigilante group looking for a rapist in the area and gave me a number to call if I saw any strange lurkers around. Would a Ghetto dweller have that kind of neighborhood spirit?

da suburbs have better schools and new books that no one has to share and dont have dangerous or violent neighborhoods one must travel to to get to school so students from the suburbs are more likely to use proper grammar and ask questions begining with da word are versus the letter r and are not taught that ignorance is cool

Take one look at the way you worded this question then tell me.
The schools are superior. Even the inferior race's need some education. I'm TIRED of the way you people keep screwin up my order at Burger King cuz you can't read!
Maybe if you were not up the whole night chasing after your baby's daddy to buy pampers you would stay awake long enough in school to learn how to read!
What are you going to do when you turn 16?

suburbs are outside of the city, and typically the ghetto is the inner city. What is better is your own opinion.

Well, let's see. In the 'burbs, there are fewer drive-by shootings, no crack dealers on every corner, hangin out in front of the liquor stores next to the pavement princesses.

It's a plus.

not neccessarily... some of the same things that happen in the hood happen in the suburbs.

Drugs, shootings, etc. it all happens, maybe not on the same scale but it does
