Samuel 1
15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ***.
IF your God will command you to do that right now ( for any reason, and we will agree that God’s reasons are so amazing and incredibly good) will you do it?

When ppl trying to accuse me of picking up out of context i think they are the once who did not read the question.
Let me try the second time for those who can't read.
I said reasons to do that are beatifful and jsutified. Reasons are so compelling and i will agree. But the question still stays. For any reason will you do it?

i would say, read it in conext, back up a few chapters and see what amalek did to them first.
we are fighting against terrorists right now, right? are they not from one specific country? if God told me to join the military, i would. that, however, is not my calling.

Hum? I have heard it said Bush said God told him to attack the countries that we have went to war with. That said I would follow the President of the United States to war, so the answer is yes. The first thing you have to know about God is that he works with authority. He would not tell me to smite anyone with out giving me the legal authority to do so. And If I had the legal authority and knew beyond a doubt it was from God, yes I would do such a thing.

Very Good Question.....
I would like to give you an indirect answer......
1) People who are currently undertaking such ventures are taking orders from deranged people.. (NOT GOD)
2) If GOD talks to you and commands you to do these things directly (for any reason).... You will not stop at any cost and nothing will be able to stop you........and.....if they are able to stop you, then you can look back for a second and think, was it really GOD who told you to do such a thing.....

Picking just this verse is notwhat the issue is, do you understand what the issue that lead God to make this statement? If not then should n't you look into the whole story??????
Before picking just a verse and asking about it, do your homework and know the full story.
It is not my place to justify what God says or does but to look into what has taken place to understand why.

I don;t think too many people on this earth have the ability to talk to God in this way that he would give them specific directions as to who to kill and so forth. It just does not seem to realistic that just ANYBODY would have this ability. I mean, anything is possible, I suppose...

I don't have it in me, and one of the Commandments says thou shalt not kill. so isn't that a little on the contradictory side?
