He speaks a lot about GOD because he was elected by evangelicals. Evangelicals are notoriously known to be very unintelligent people that can be easily manipulated by faith.

He is not a religous man. He only pretended to be religious to get elected. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/jesus/view/

Bush is actually pretty religious and he believes in God. Provided I don't know the man personally, but from what I can gather, he is a religious man. Besides, freedom of speech gives him the right to speak about God publically. And 'May God Bless America' does make a good closing to a speech.

A religious person wouldn't send his people to war, to kill and get slaughtered. A religious person wouldn't look for the first viable excuse to make war instead of feeding the hungry or sheltering the homeless. I'm sorry, it's just bull***t. All leaders throughout history include God in their speeches. The sad thing is that God is there as an element for the regular person to relate with, a PR tool, a mass control object. I don't know if he thinks of himself as a deeply religious man, but he certainly doesn't behave as one. Thank you for asking a smart q.

President Bush is a deeply political man--political enough to realize the power of the conservative religious base in this country and plays that violin like a pro
He has though on numerous occasions shown his true colors on a number of issues that have left his political right wingers gasping for air

He claims to be. He even claims he talks to God every day and that God answers back. That's a sure sign of a paranoid schizophrenic. I guess his god told Bush its ok to kill innocent men, women and children along with the terrorists in Iraq. And his god also tells him to do it all for the big oil companies since they're the only ones to profit from his little war. He hides behind his god and his religion as a way to avoid admitting he's an idiot.

All politicians reference God a lot. Same way politicians in the middle eat reference Allah. When it comes down to it, Canada and the US are Christian nations (yes we are, why do you think our calendars are based on Jesus). Even though not many people practice the religion, we all still have a base belief in Christianity. Imagine if George Bush said "Praise Buddah" at the end of every speech.

He claims to be but, I see the lies in his face. As the old song goes, "you can't hide you're lyin' eyes"!!!
In my opinion, he is anything but a good Christian.

Also, if he was truly a "good Christian" wouldn't he have done everything in his power to PREVENT war instead of taking the upper hand in starting one, and now possibly two? I mean, if memory serves me correctly, isn't one of the commandments "thou shalt not kill?" I mean, he didn't literally kill anyone but the second he signs any papers to start a war, he really is killing.

There's also a few things that come to mind when I think of George W. 1. "an eye for an eye" and 2. "those who have never sinned may cast the first stone"

He puts up a good front about being religious and speaking to God, but I feel that his real God is money and oil.

Religion is a very powerful weapon and a wonderful medium to use in order to play on people's emotions.
Maybe Bush is religious/maybe not.
One thing is for sure...he knows that the majority of his voters are and plays that piano to his best advantage.

Yes, he is deeply religious. A little over the edge sometimes, and definitely too fundamentalist, but his faith is in the right place.
