If you're an athlete, gather up all your jerseys, awards, etc. If you're into music do something with a music theme. Talk with the studio you're going to or the ones you're looking into and see what they have to offer. Talk to those who have done senior pictures in the last couple of years and see if you can look at some of their pictures & get ideas. And if anything just type 'senior pictures' into a search engine, you'll get plenty of places with really nice pictures (I've tried it before!)

have the photographer photograph you in any candid moments, those are the best. get away from the common tree pose. ask the photographer to play with the light a bit and make it dramatic. I think stone walls are cool, wooden fences, laying in the grass with the camera at ground level.

Just make sure that in your pose you won't mind looking at the same pic 20 years later.

- laying down with the camera above you, looking up into it.
- leaning back, camera at an angle in front of you, head back (a little) laughing.

Something with your hands and class ring in it.
Sitting on a stool is nice.
