I don't think Chinese people are more superstitious, just more open about their superstitions. Chinese don't have the same social stigma as other countries when it comes to superstition. Religion on the other hand is another thing. If you say you are religious in China, you will get the same reaction as being superstitious in many western countries, ie. you'll be associated with uneducated, generally dumb people.

Define superstitious, please!
How so superstitious the Chinese you have met or seen or talked to???
Have you ever been to China? Do you have Chinese friends or have you ever tried to make friend with Chinese?
I guess you are asking these questions for just want to gain more points.

Many Chinese believe in Taoism which has a lot of rites like burning incense as a way to show respect to the dead, to worship gods or to ask for blessings. People who are ignorant about Taoism can easily see these as a case of superstition.
Christianity too is full of rites like prayers, chanting, confession, candle-burning, asking for blessings etc.
If one's mind is focused only at his own culture, he would easily dismiss other cultures which indeed share striking similarities with his own culture.
As to the issue of religion vs superstition, it is not easy to distinguish the two. Every religion carries some rites, practices or beliefs that no science can explain. You can call these superstition but you can also call these blind faith. And you bet 'blind faith' is not confined to Taoism or any other religions popular with Chinese.

People in many other countries are superstitous too. Jamaican Voodoos, African Black Magic, Red Indian Rain dances etc are non-Chinese superstitions. These are just the tip of the iceberg.
China consists of 56 ethnic groups. Different culture, different beliefs. It is also a country with a long history (5000years). Superstitions are part of the daily lives of some of these ethnic groups, part of their culture. This is not bad thing in most cases.

Because communism restricted freedom of religion.
The Chinese are as superstitious as Americans are religious.

You shouldn't generalize... not all of them are superstitious... Sometimes there is a fine line between cultural/religious beliefs and superstitions.
