it is probably becaus it is too hot and it cant get to its usual temp, try to turn it up and after a while the normal green light should come on. (mine did this the other week, dont panic)

Check to see when the last time the water filter was replaced, Maybe there is some sort of reason it is not cooling properly.

On my fridge freezer it meens your defrosting it but i assume your not doing that.
