my legs itch like crazy and sometimes -especially in the winter- they get red and scabby spots and little bumps.... I tried not shaving once but that didn't help. I put lotion on and it helps sometimes but not really, and even dermetoligists don't have anything that makes it go away. Once I went to mexico and it went away maybe because of the climate but I can't live in mexico lol..(I live in northern usa) does anyone else have this problem? if it's exzema how do you get rid of that if medication doesn't help? anything natural that works?

It sounds like exzema to me. My daughter has the same problem and she had elidel prescribed to her and this, too, did not work. This is a touch and go condition with numerous different solutions which work on some people, and not on others. What I finally found that worked for my daughter is Borage Dry Skin Therapy made by Shikai. This is found at Mother Earth Foods. The ingredients are all natural, and it seems to work terrific. Many things can cause flare-ups. Typically, using natural lotions with no perfumes, oatmeal soaps, no perfumes or dyes in detergents, and anything else you can think of really tends to help. I hope this helps!

I am an MD. I believe you have eczema, which is due to the robbing of moisture from your skin. That is why you felt better in Mexico or any other tropical place. This loss of moisture is due to the loss of the natural oil layer on the surface of your skin, which is supposed to keep your moisture in. The usual cause of oil loss is excessive use of soap. You probably are one of those people who compulsively bathes and scrubs your skin with soap several times a day, using one of the industrial grade soaps like Lifebouy or Irish Spring or Safeguard or the like, aren't you? Don't do it. You are robbing your skin of its natural oils, and this is very harmful. Switch to a soap with moisurizing cream in it like Dove or Camay and even then don't use so much! Also apply moisturizing cream after each use of soap to restore some of the oil layer. I guarantee it will work.

did you wear pants in mexico?may be you are allergic to a certain material or the soap you use to wash your clothes in or maybe your pants are too tight and the material is constantly rubbing your skin and irritating it.
