Some consider rabbit to be a rodent like a rat or peasant food. There ARE places that serve it, you just have to look.

Rabbit is served in a number of french restaurants. You don't find it much because it doesn't sell very well because people don't like the thought of eating cute animals. If you would like to try it you can order it on-line www.pelfreez-foods.com I believe they also have recipes there also. I love rabbit it's great

I'm going to assume you meant "available to the public" and not make the obvious sophomoric jokes.

I have seen rabbit on the menu in many restaurants. It's not very popular in the US, so it usually only appears in European-themed or "fine-dining"restaurants where the patrons are more adventurous than usual.

I also know of at least 4 markets within five miles of me that sell rabbit meat.

There are certain restaurants which serve all types of game, including rabbit. When they sold it in the old days, though, you had to be careful. The dealers were supposed to leave the fur on one foot, because the skinned carcasses of rabbit and cat look about the same, and you needed to be sure not to have Garfield on your fork!

There are some restraunts that serve rabbit in some parts of the country and world. However it's not common in large part because rabbits are common pets and much like how eating cats and dogs are common in some parts of the world eating rabbits isn't common here either.

It is, just usually at wild game restaurants. You can buy it in certain markets, I actually used to work at a poultry market about 10 years ago that also sold rabbit. I hear it tastes a little like chicken, but there really isn't a lot of meat on them.

Any animal which can be considered 'game' is very hard to find, but not impossible, either in restaurants or some of the fancier grocery stores. In some areas, there are 'laws' against selling game animals, fish, etc. State laws are all different, and I believe, county ones are, too.

I've seen it on menus, and in grocery stores for sale, but rarely. My parents told me I ate it as a child, but I have no recollection of it. They also told me, that they passed it off to me as 'chicken', so...
