Absolutely. With DNA testing and forensic science at sci-fi levels, we should be able to incontrovertably prove or disprove guilt and sentence accordingly. If hanging was resinstated in the UK tomorrow, I suspect there would be a queue for the job a mile long. Deterents need to be in place and while foreign countries meter out severe puishments for stealing, like cutting off hands, we need to return to a situation where those who perpetrate dark and evil deeds against us find that when caught and found guilty, they will know the measure of the law and their lives are forfeit. An eye for an eye seems to be the most appropriate answer, which won't please the do-gooders and PC brigade and the human rights activists. But hey - wait until their partner is raped and brutalised, wait until their partner is stabbed for a mobile phone, wait until someone they know and love dearly is shot or murdered for no reason and there is scant justice under the current system. If we don't do something about this now, as crime levels rocket, despite what Government tells us the crime figures are, we can't be criticised in the future for taking the law into our own hands............you have been warned

And yet the demise sentence has finished no longer some thing to cut back the detention center inhabitants contained in the USA of a It also expenditures much better to keep a prisoner on demise row than the contained in the overall detention center inhabitants. So your facebook campaign to diminish the quantity of prisoners and decrease expenditures is truly incorrect

that's a really tricky question I think. There are good points for bringing it back, to make people fear the justice system as it really is a joke. the bad point being that people have been sent down for something and then years later, have been found innocent. I think if it was to come back, we would need to be 100% sure that they were guilty. I couldn't imagine being found guilty, knowing I was innocent and then being put to death for something I didn't do.....

I do believe that the death penalty is a necessary evil. I don't think that it should be just for murder cases, but also cases that are so violent and heinous that it ruins the victims lives forever. I feel that the death penalty is a justifiable punishment depending on what the person did.

Yes of course we should. There is no deterrent out there anymore. The justice system is a joke. You can get 9 months for not paying your rates or 3 months for killing someone in a stolen car drunk what justice that?

only if you can be absolutely sure a] they were guilty b] they had no mental or physical impairment. If you look back at the death sentences there has been some terrible mistakes and often in hindsight the death sentence would not have been passed but saying WHOOPS SORRY is a bit late

Our Prisons are reaching breaking point - We, the tax payers, are footing the bill, so make them pay for their crimes!!!
Yes yes yes, for Murderers, Sex Offenders Paedophiles, drunk drivers, anti social violent yobs, drug traffickers - anyone that takes or ruins, or endangers another persons life.
Make them pay for their crimes!
Prisons should simply be used as a halfway house, hang the murderers and make less dangerous crimes, outstanding bills, not TV licence payers and such do do community service.
why keep these guys for free???
Make them work for their crimes!

Not only should the death sentence for capital crimes be the law of the land, there should be an express lane.
