Just curious. someone once told me that you could do this to keep yourself hydrated, and because it's from your own body, wouldn't poison you.

you can't drink ocean water, it will kill you, because the salt content will shut down your kidneys and you will actually die of dehydration.

it doesn't matter whose body it's from; urine is sterile and will keep you alive in place of water.
if you have to drink it for a long time, though.... eventually toxins will build up in your urine and your body, and start to make you sick.... not to mention, when you get really dehydrated, you'll run out of urine.
here's hoping you never have to put this plan into action.

No, that wouldn't work too well. While yes, your urine doesn't contain anything poisonous, it does contain a great deal of salt. And salt, as you probably know, dehydrates you further, which would put you in an even worse position. So you shouldn't drink your own urine for the same reason that you shouldn't drink seawater while you're out at sea.

Although it is a waste from your body, in an emergency it would make a good drink, however you shouldn't keep it for long time because it gets a terrible smell.

I saw a movie like that, that they drank their urine to survive, but I don't know how true really is in the real life. But I preferred not to find out.

i heard that you cant drink your own cuz it would harm you, but if you have to, then drink someone else's.
it's disgusting to even think about. i would drink the nasty salt water and die from that rather than drink anyone's urine, including my own.

Urine is waste from your body, it wouldn’t be any good for you but it probably would keep you alive longer…

well...if you're stranded in the ocean...urine would not be my first choice...
