Is America really just one big family?

Question

I think we are, thats why we hate each other so much. No one hates like family. At the same time we all can relate to each other on some level, finance, Death, Life, Joy, Sorrow ect.... Does that make us one big Family?

I'd like to think of us (the USA) as a big family. Agreed, not all family members get along all the time.. and like every family, this country goes through all sorts of sibling conflict.
But one thing is for sure, like a true family, when something happens to one of us, it happens to all of us.. and we're all there to help one another out.. no one harms any one of us, without all of us getting involved.
Maybe that's why it's the United States.. it's us all the way.

I think mankind is all one big family. But why can't we all get along? That is the question. We all want and need the same things; food, shelter, water, good health, happy children, love. All those bad things get in the way; hate, greed, love of power. Some would argue we need those bad things too in order to make progress, but I think the price is too high. Just think what we could do if all our energies and monies were focused on peace, feeding our children, education, saving the earth, development of a cheap fuel (good one)...

yes. i work in a nursing home where you'll find all walks of life living, eating, talking together & it becomes a family if you realize that lifes not about you or your inane opinions, ya know.....
