just yell back, why not?
i cannot stand how parents expect their kids to not say anything back when the parents yell at them.
if you disrespect your child, they should be able to stand up for themselves.

it's not fair, but, unfortunately that's the way that it is. as a child, it's not your place to point out your mother "getting smart" with you. if you respect your mother and respect yourself not to smart back, then maybe she will see how immature her actions are. i have a 14 year old daughter who gets very angry at me when i seem to not listen or minimize her problems if i don't feel like dealing with her...and you know what? i do realize that i am in the wrong and the fact that she hasn't thrown a tantrum or disrespected me makes it a lot easier to go to her with an apology and open myself up to more effective communication. when she talks back to me just makes me more angry and then the problem turns to how she is being a brat when in fact i was probably crabby and she approached me at the wrong time.

She's your mother, you don't have the right to yell at her.

If you want to be treated like an adult, then act like an adult and talk with her. If she is getting smart with you it's probably because she is just as frustrated. I'm sure she wants what is best for you. So stop being disrespectful, and try thinking of things you can do to make your relationship with your mom better. She isn't going to be around forever.

My mom makes me mad too but think of it this way. You live in her house where she pays for everything and supports you. If you don't want to live by her rules, get a job, live on your own and support yourself. If you can't handle that, then just live with what you got. When you're old enough to move out, then you don't have to deal with it. Until then, you do.

Its all about respect. If you mouth off to your Mother you're gonna get it right back. You are being disrespectful to her and she is puttin you in your place. Since you are her child no matter how she comes across to you you should never disrespect her. Listen to what she has to say then take it in and move on.

That's a mother's job.

Your job is to learn respect, learn self-control, act responsibly, and then EARN respect.

You might not like it now, but she's doing you a huge favor. Relax, and go with the flow.
