It is my bosses' birthday and she and I both like wine but she is a little more into it than me. I don't want to get her a cheap or bad wine. I know she likes Italian reds from her trip to Italy. I don't want to spend too much either about $15 so it is appropriate. Thanks for the help!

In my opinion the best tasting Italian wine is a Tuscana Chianti called Villa Antonori. It has an INCREDIBLE after taste and serves well with most foods. I'm not sure if you are in the US or Canada but in Canada it retails for about $26.00.
Anything made by Masi is also a good choice. Masi Amorone or Valpollecella.
Good Luck!

Does he collect wine? Does he age it? My boss loves wine and what I have found works best is to buy him something he doesn't drink. He loves French and Califormia wines so every year I buy a bottle of something that might be new and exciting to him. If he enjoys Petit Syrahs then he would also enjoy a Tempranillo from Spain. I think giving wine lovers something they aren't expecting but will enjoy is the whole point of experiencing wine.

Don't buy the Principato from Olive Garden. In our area, they charge $26 per 1.5 lt bottle, but at the wine store, it's under $10 per bottle.
A chianti classico (aged chianti) would be good. Davinci, Nozzole, Cecci and Ruffino all produce good chianti classico. Expect to pay $15 to $20.
