Actually it is the capital of the country called the Holy See. But it is refered to as the Vatican. It is a recognized city-state, but everything that runs it belongs to Italy. The phone lines, water lines, electricity. It is completely dependent on Italy and also follows all laws of Italy and is under Rome jurisdiction.

yes it is . if visiting beware of the vendors, there are ton of them. you can buy the same in the Vatican gift Shop. Some of the Rosary's are made in the USA.
