Why should I have to restrain myself for a "god". He/she/it gave me life knowing what would happen. I restrain myself because I love my fellow man and myself, not because "god" deems it so. Also, why would "god" tell a man to announce the commendments, for all you know the guy could've been tripping on opium (or whatever was good back then). I don't want to hear how I don't except "god", give me some real reasons with real facts.

Are you sure you restrain yourself because you love your fellow man and yourself? Isn't it possible that God made you that way? The reason there are rules in religion, especially Christianity, is simple: The root of all evil is really selfishness, and the rules are imposed to remind us that we are mortal beings, NOT gods, and that the world doesn't revolve around us. We do NOT have the right to do whatever we want to do with no regard for others. We DO, however, have a responsibility to treat our fellow men and women with the appropriate respect and consideration.

Look at the world today and name me one person or one group that does not acknowledge a supreme being but still requires human beings to be considerate of others. You can't. Any group that does not revere a god (or God the Father Almighty) espouses the law-of-the-jungle mentality of survival of the fittest. Belief in a higher power is where we, as human beings, derive our sense of morality.

You can be a very moral person who is very considerate of his fellow man and of himself and still not accept God. A person who does not believe in God is not automatically an evil, corrupt, dangerous sociopath. It just means that person doesn't believe in God. You have that right, but remember who it was that gave you the freedom to choose -- it was the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, who gave you free will instead of making you an automaton who obeyed His every word (and yes, being the all-poweful being He is, He COULD have made you that way but loved you enough to let you make your own decision).

There are rules to religion because that is what defines religion. Religion doesn't refer to spirituality. It refers to a structured discipline. May people read the Sports section in teh paper religiously, watch certain shows religiously or do other things religiously, and none of them have anything to do with God.

Christianity has no rules. All one has to do is accept the fact that we are not perfect, believe that Jesus came to earth to save us and admit that. No strings attached. But if it is a true salvation, your heart will change and you will no longer want to do these things you find pleasure in today because you will find so much more in Christ. Try it for 90 days - pray and read the Bible while asking God to show Himself to you. Do it earnestly. If you decide you don't want it you can go back to your current life and continue on your own path.

God is our Father in Heaven. As a good father here would do, he gives rules, not to limit us , or hurt us etc , but to keep us safe and away from harm. Though we are not bound by the law, but rather grace today, the Holy Spirit guilds us thru the law thru the fruits of the Spirit. As we begin to walk as God ask us to, because we love him. We natural follow what he ask without any reason why, because we trust him.

Why are there laws of the land? Because people need them. Rules to religion? I'm not sure I know what you mean with this one, we as Christians are given guidelines on how to live, but this is what they are. Why? Because we need them. Most of us have been raised with much dysfunction and need to know the right way to be and how to live, and by following Jesus' example, we can see how to do it.
I tried doing it on my own for years and just messed it all up. I couldn't hold one relationship together and couldn't do any of it right. I enjoy having guidelines and examples of how to do things the right way, because I didn't know how to before.

See true freedom actually comes from restraining yourself... in society restraining your right to run a red light gives you the freedom to not die when you hit someone! That is actual freedom. Sins of sex are addicting and u actually become enslaved to the sin.... that is not true freedom at all. And when people screw up and dont restrain themselves they end up losing their own freedom and damaging the freedom of others.

Religions are works based on ones belief. (Perfect religion before God in the bible is to help the widows, orphans,...& keep self from sinful living.)

In The Bible God Faith, God spoke the 10 commandments first, then wrote them in two tablets of stone with His finger. Moses wrote this in the bible (Exodus 20). When anyone disobeys these laws knowingly, they are sinning against God. All have sinned though. That is why God sent His Son to be the sinless Lamb of God (atonement for our sin). Since He was sinless, He rose from the dead victorious over death,. Death had reigned since the first Adam sinned (Where we all have the sin nature from sin sperm.).

Sorry, you have already sinned so much, You can not possibly know how to make up for it. To be saved, one has to recognize one is a sinner and needs a Saviour to save one from ones sins. The person must come as they are, a sinner, humble befor their God. The foundational confession is acknowledging this before God. Then confessing Jesus Christ as ones Lord (life commitment) & believeing in ones heart He paid the price for ones sins and rose from the dead. The most important is heart faith.

Salvaton (Heaven bound) is the gift of God (not by being good enouph or doing enough works) to be recieved from God through Faith (believing in the heart). Water baptizm usually follows and this work/act is being a witness to those watching that the old man (sinner) has died & the new man in Christ is alive.

Jesus said that He did not come to take away the laws or the prophets, but to fulfill them. The law by Moses, Grace & mercy through Jesus Christ the Lord. Jesus made the 10 commandments really easy. He said to .love God & love others like ones self. This is actually the root of the law in the 10 commandments.

God is Love, and love comes from God. God loves you so much. Look up www.FathersLoveLetter.com.

Religion is rules. Don't expect being religious will get you into heaven though. No one can be religious enouph because then pride comes into the picture. And their works are dead works. One doesn't humble themself before the Almighty God because one is too proud. God resists the proud & gives grace to the humble.

God works through people of faith. He spoke to the people first but it scared them so wrote the 10 in stone. Also, He revealed His way & direction to the Prophet of the people since. Jesus Christ fulfilled the prophets. Old testament Prophets prophecied of the comming Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Those that are born again Christians go by the law of liberty. Jesus said that if we loved Him we would obey Him. Trust & Obey, to be happy in Jesus, is to trust and obey. A Christian cannot abide in sin (make it a comfortable habit) because God disciplines, where we confess our sins as revealed and He promises to forgive us our sins & cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

USE YOUR BRAIN- YOU KNOW -THE ONE THAT'S INSIDE YOUR HEAD!!!

If there were no rules every body would go berserk!

let me give you an example; If there were no policemen in the streets no traffic lights no lines on the sidewalk would we be able to drive? It would be total chaos!

And that is why god sent us "rules" so there won't be chaos in life....

Everything has rules, there is nothing that doesn't. If you don't want to hear you don't ACCEPT God(learn to spell) then don't ask dumb questions in the religion category.

God gives us his commandments to protect us, not ruin our fun. The same reason you wouldn't let a child play with guns. Also the commandments are to convict us and show us we are sinners and need a savior (Christ).

Religion has rules because, as humans, we are to stupid to figure out the difference between right and wrong on our own.
