Why is it if somone tells you they love you but as soon as there is a little temptation they end up cheating on you. I dont think it's right to say you love somone just cause you feel a attraction to them. I guess im an old romantic but i think you should only say you love someone if you truly DO love that person what do you think?

It has a major meaning for me! I have told lots of girls that I love them, & meant it. It just didn't work out. I'm now, married, in love & happy.

I agree with you 100% I hate when people just say that without a second thought you know like "oh let me get some gum" People use those words to get what they want. If someone told you they loved you but then cheated on you with the first temptation that person did not love you. They were probably physically attracted to you but they did not love you. Love does not go away at the drop of a hat or at the sight of some attractive person. Real love takes a long time to go away and sometimes it never does....

I think some people mistake their feelings quickly in a relationship. Love is something that really grows over time and some people have a problem with distinguishing true love with lust. Obviously, they arent going to say I LUST YOU.. that just sounds all wrong. I just think people are too quick to judge their feelings for someone sometimes. A lot of times if someone says they love you and they cheat on you (my take on it through my experience) its because sometimes after a while people change or in the beginning they really didnt know what they wanted they just thought they did. Once things got to a certain point they realized they couldnt go back and so they just moved on thinking it'd be better to find someone else than to hurt you if you found out. (which that really bugs me) Thats just how some people are.
People grow, people change.

I'm with you on that one. The people who say "I love you" and just end up cheating still have to mature a little. They haven't realized it yet but that little act that they pull is just going to come back and bite them in the ***. Karma really will come to get you and one day they're going to feel bad for ever treating anyone that way. Don't give your hopes up on love just yet though. There are plenty of sincere, hopeless romantics like yourself who really are trying to find true love. The thing about love is it doesn't come easy. You have to be patient and there are going to be plenty of trial relationships before you finally find the right one. You have to be up for the challenge, so stick it out. The journey and the wait will be well worth it! =) Good luck!!

The word 'love' has several different meanings. And you have to look at the context (or the situation) in order to understand which meaning it is.

The word 'love' can mean the feeling of emotion called love. Or it can mean commitment and promise to love no matter what.

If it's the first meaning, then this kind of love is here today and gone tomorrow. There is no permanence in purely emotional type of love.

But if it's the the second meaning, then this kind of love is an act of one's will. And it is as permanent and as strong as is the will of the person who says 'I love you'. How permanent that love is depends on the character of the person who says it. And you have to be a good judge of character in order to know the true meaning of this person's love.

I strongly agree. I am not dating anyone now. But in the past, I let my boyfriend know that I will say I love you when I know I do, and I won't say it unless I mean it. That way he knows it's from the heart. I don't believe that it should be forced out just because the other person says it to you. Plus, I believe love is build up and that it takes time....from attraction --> like --> admire --> care --> uneasiness when not around him/her --> love. Saying I love you in the first month of dating just doesn't cut it. Do you agree?

There are lot of love than just ONE love .. Im sure you and i have different ideas of what LOVE should do for us in a relationship or the language of love with meanings are variety. I don't love you but I may love your girl friend.
I always tell my girl friend I love her while I'm putting it to her. I tell her what she wants to hear and I want to get some. Can you imagine what would happen if I said I don't love you while putting it to her. I don't even want to know.
How would it sound if while putting it to her I said "I LUST YOU".
I know what you mean because I say I love everything. I love my car. It's a 2006 G6 Pontiac. If I had to choose between my car and my girl friend. I would pick the car every time. See what I mean. I think with my head down there.

U are absolutely correct.
When u meet someone and all is going well,
and they blurt out they love u.
Just ask them, do u really? if they say Yes.
Then ask why??
Then u will know for sure according to there answer.
But make it a habit to tell who ever u r with
to never say anything to U that they do not mean.
To be Honest.

I totally agree with you. People who say I love you and then cheat on you do not know the real meaning of the word "love". It is so pathetic when they say that when they don't mean it. *shaking head*

Awwwhh thats so cute, all men should think like you. I totally agree with you. People these day s give no meaning to the word love, they need to give it more credit and stop taking advantage of it.
