first, where did you get 60,000? Second, if it is only 60,000 people, the list has probably been filled up for millenia now. I mean, who thinks they can live their lives better than the 60,000 best in all of history (or even from 30 AD when Jesus was crucified)?

Spoken like a true "Jehovah's Witness"............victim.

And so true "it has already filled up thousand years ago" if you believe Jehovah's Witnesses. Then don't ask me ask them.

As for me I can't believe the Bible literately as they do, I think heaven is much, much much more bigger than that. And this 60,000 maximum would mean that quite a few of my loved ones would not fit in heaven with me. I know that I have loved many more of my fellow human beings than just a lousy 60,000. people. I would really be pissed off if God in heaven did not have room for them.

akempis 2000 has answered correctly, if you question the symbolism he speaks of, look at the very next verse.

Revelation 7: 9After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

That great multitude that no one can count is explained a few passages later.

Revelation 7:13Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?" 14I answered, "Sir, you know." And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

So the 144,000 is a symbolic number that describes the complete number of believers. the following verses explain that the complete number is more than anyone can count. they are the believers who have been washed in the blood of the Lamb, which means those who have had their sins forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ.

I actually am among the chosen ones. I was flying through Heaven the other day on my lovely angelic wings, looking for Jesus because I wanted to give him a huge hug. Suddenly, tucked behind a shrubbery, a laptop appeared. It was somehow hooked up to the internet, and after a few minutes of poking around, I found your question. I guess God willed me to answer it!
But yeah, I am among them. Heaven's actually not all it's cracked up to be, though. There isn't any really great satire. I guess Jesus was more of a mime dude himself. Oh well. Peace and blessings to you, though!

I believe it is the same set number of people. I believe people have the opportunity to come back to earth if they want to advance their spirit for our Lord. Essentially, everyone on earth right now, has been here before in a past life. You can only expand your spirit through triumph and dispair. Broaden your earthly experiences. This is why I believe people come back. Ex. The mentally handicapped are the most advanced spirits because they have a hard and challenging life given to them on earth. God will never give you something that you can't handle.

It says 144,000 people but that is a religious number to jews... understand that there were 12 tribes of israel....This number refers to 12 sons of the twelve tribes multiplied by 1000....

12x12=144
144x1000=144,00

The number simply means a huge amount of people from all places and religions faiths and areas... It is also in revelation as 144,000 holy innocence, it simply means a huge number.

More like 144,000 people. Go read that again.

Revelation 7:4
And I heard the number of them that were sealed, a hundred and forty and four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the children of Israel:

I can't even win on an instant lotto ticket. Since it was all over in the place where Jesus lived , we over here are not included anyhow ! Unless they throw out some of the ballots like they did in Florida.

What part of the Bible says that? And anyway we should all live our lives to the best of our ability regardless of whether or not we are scared of going to Hell. Thats what the Jehovah's witnesses preach to me at my doorstep I don't believe that.
