I pay $20 a day for a full time sitter (at her house), she is great with kids, does a lot with my child (outside, park, with her to run errands and sometimes to school events for her kids), and even though I pack a lunch and snacks, of course my child ends up eating some of their food anyway. I feel $20 is hardly enough for all of this, what do you think about raising it to $25 a day? Too much, or perfect? (Local daycare charges $32 a day, all food provided, for 2 year old.)

I have a day care in my home and I charge $125 a week which is $25 a day. The fees are for 50 hours of childcare a week and I provide 2 snacks, a lunch, all bedding materials, bibs, and eating utensils. I think you are very considerate of your sitter to want to offer to pay more. She's lucky to have such a thoughtful client in you. All you can do is ask her if it's alright with her if you send the extra money, she'll tell you if she thinks it's fair.

Not only are you getting better 1-on-1 childcare (your baby needs all the attention he or she can get), but you're paying less for it. There should be more of a balance with how much your babysitter's getting and how much the local daycare charges. I think your suggestion of $25 dollars a day would be a perfect solution taking into consideration that you have to provide food for your baby.

I think it is very nice of you to value your babysitter so much. I think it is great to be able to trust and love your babysitter so much. They are there with your children for a good portion of the day and you need to make sure they are taken care of. I pay $25 a day($125 a week) for my babysitter and my son is there 9 hours a day. She gives him all his food, snacks and provides all the activities and toys. I think it is quite reasonable but if she does eventually raise the rate, I will pay it. It beats having to pay outrageous prices for a daycare center. Plus my son enjoys being in a "home" environment. I think if you mentioned it to your babysitter and you feel comfortable talking to her, she will be honest and up front about your money situation. Good luck.

i got paid $25 a day to watch my friends' 8 month old daughter for about 6 hours a day. they also packed her lunch and snacks, provided diapers, etc. but i felt i was getting overpaid! lol.
i have a son that is close in age with their daughter, so most of the time they would play while i supervised and gave them ideas for things to do. i enjoy watching children, and think it is a relatively easy job, so i wouldn't mind getting paid $20 a day if i were in your sitter's position.
if she is happy with the current amount, i wouldn't worry. if she seems like she would like more, and you feel really bad about it, then go ahead and raise it to $25. all in all, make sure you are still making more than what you put into it. ;-)

25 sounds pretty fair!! That's a good price. Ask her if thats too little/too much etc. For this girl that babysits my 4 kids ( 8, 5, 3, 3 months) she is 15, I pay her about $15 an hour becuase she works hard. I think 25 in your case is pefact.

it isn't basic I babysat for years even as i became youthful some human beings were very beneficiant some were clueless I relay imagine an effective concept is to ask them their prices. I actual have not babysat in years yet when I did I charged 2.50 an hour for one baby then a dollar for each addition baby I felt quite fortunate even as human beings may pay 5 or better an hour. This became 10 years in the past so it truly is kinda like my mom telling me she were given 50 cents an hour yet i actual may imagine that for now a days 6-7 money an hour may be sufficient.

wow! I want to be your babysitter. The going rate for a babysitter at their house here is $15 a day and they supply food, snacks, drinks.

Now, if you want to pay her more, I am sure she would gladly take it. Do you make sure she has a car seat for your child when she leaves home with him?

Raise it or give her a "tip" at the end of the week or month how ever you feel confortable. Or give a gift card for lunch or a treat for everyone her her kids and yours once a month. I think she'd enjoy it. hey we gotta be good to our babysitters when we find a good one or she may not stick around.

$25 sounds fair to me. If she is good with your child go for it.

Is she asking for more? If not it really doesnt bother her, but raising it without her asking will show that you value her.
