A medieval reference to Lilith as the first wife of Adam is the anonymous The Alphabet of Ben-Sira, written sometime between the 8th and 11th centuries. Lilith is described as refusing to assume a subservient role to Adam during sexual intercourse and so deserting him ("She said, 'I will not lie below,' and he said, 'I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while I am to be the superior one.'"). Lilith promptly uttered the name of God, took to the air, and left the Garden, settling on the Red Sea coast.
For all of you cry babies who are going to say 'that isn't in the bible, that doesn't count', BIG DEAL. Considering how many stories have been edited and cut and added to the modern bible, just about any fable revoloving around your biblical characters are just as valid as the rest of the mythology.

Adam and Eve didn't even really exist... Adam is a play on the words in aramaic adam (meaning literaly man) and adama (meaning literally ground). Also eve is just a play on the words hawwa (eve's aramaic name) and hay (meaning living).
As for biblical cannon, those who reject the authority of the pope, reject the authority of the bible. Biblical canon (which books and what words were included) were established in 325 A.D. at ephesus a council called and validated by the authority of the catholic pope. Only 2325 yrs. after the fact... not 3000 like your account. Regardless the account of your adam and eve story and the accounts of the gospels of judas and mary aren't part of the bible and for good reason.

And thus did the female Goths and Emos rejoice, for now they had a Biblical character to latch onto. And the historians wept.
Actually, the whole Lilith, sons of Caine angle makes the mythology much more interesting, because then you can have all sorts of freaky bad guys. Add in the Nephilim and, hot dog, you have some great potential rooted just enough in the Bible to make people nervous!

Assuming I believed in the Bible, why would I care what someone else wrote between the 8th and 11th centuries? They were probably crazy pagans.
If your point is that other myths exist that are contrary to Christianity, then I award you the the medal of obviousness.

you know darn well that it was adam & eve.
too many people out there in this world that's trying to prove the bible wrong. but no one can, can they?
it's a sin to add, change, delete, modify the holy bible. beware to those that do.
see, even u admitted to that. how many STORIES have been told & changed about the bible. yes they're all stories & fables.
the holy bible is the truth.
jesus christ is the way, the truth & the life/light.
that's the truth, the whole truth & nothing but the truth.

What's you point? Yeah, we know God didn't create Adam and Philip but what does that have to do with the statement you made. Your saying Eve is not the first woman but who is Philip in your point. I thought you were going to talk about gay marriage or something. So, I'm trying to figure out the correlation between your question and your statement.

Yeah, but they feel that an account written 3000 years after the fact is more valid than one written 4000 years after the fact.
