what freedom?

You have to go to work and pay taxes, and bills.

If you have land you have to be taxed on that and get a PERMIT to grow or sell anything from that land

when you are born you get a social security number
In order to be economically viable you must follow a plan set for you.

If you use your free will there are consequences
They sepend more tax payer dollars on building prisons then they do on education.

what part of that is freedom?
being able to consume products and mcdonalds?
which of course that is what tv is for. to give you what you want and what you need. So you will consume.

We are indoctrinated with books and thought process's in order to make us believe as a collective

what part of this is freedom to you?

I love the comment about liberals. :\

If you've ever watched two kids play, what always happens is that when one hits, the other hits back harder. Why do they do this? Because "he hit me first." How does this translate to the political stage? Just watch the news, Israel and Hezbollah are busy demonstrating this principle at this very moment.

Attacking Iraq hasn't guaranteed anything for Americans other then the fact that one day someone will hit back and they'll use our presence in the Middle East to justify their actions.

There are no new freedoms for Americans as a result of our invasion, maybe, just maybe there are freedoms for Iraqis but that really remains to be seen. In the meantime good men and women are dying, we are paying hundreds of billions each year and we've guaranteed ourselves decades or more of nation building (something our president said he was against).

If the security that we were promised as a result of this war ever materializes (and that's a big if) we will have our soldiers to thank for it. But don't tell me that being bogged down in a war halfway around the world is the best way to go about protecting America. America's finest need to be at home where they can do the real job of defending freedom.

For the record I am a liberal, I love my country and I believe that our troops deserve all the support we can give them. I just think that the biggest support anyone could have given our men and women in uniform is to not have had to fight a war which, when it comes down to it, had more to do with oil and avenging one man's Daddy then it ever had to do with freedom or security.

I find it more ironic that the freedom they fight for helps people like you post questions about soldiers and rap music.

Many Americans are unappreciative of the great freedom our US troops in Iraq create for Americans because they cannot see geopolitics from a common sense point of view and are unable to realize that these terrorists want to kill us and that they ARE a major threat to our lives and the lives of many throughout the world.

There is a clear divide within America at this time and I find it ridiculous that there are so many against their own country as they are blinded by their misinformed hatred towards the current administration.

You are kidding right? They are only creating chaos in a country who doesn't want or need them there. Freedom is not something that you should have at the expense of other peoples captivity. You can't really believe that Iraq is capable of doing anything to America can you? What is really happening, is that we are bullying to many small countries and eventually they will get together and come after us. It's our turn to be attacked anyway, we are such ******* for letting this happen.

Your take on the issue is off the mark. Most people who are pissed at the circumstances of the war are in no way unappreciative of the freedom we enjoy, nor are they unappreciative of the soldiers that create it. The current war has nothing to do with maintaining our freedom. How was Iraq attempting to suppress our freedom?

Most of the contempt citiizens have is for the current administration, who represents the rest of us, and is doing a horrible job of it.

..it really sickens me that so many people actually believe that terrorists are "out to get them"...uneducated people generally lean towards believing every propaganda news cast they see, but anyone with half an ounce of understanding and intelligence can see that we are in no immenent danger from terrorists or muslims or iraq or afganistan. There is however, a very real threat from asia and our military has been in a very degraded state since the cold war and the US has become vulnerable...especially if we get involved in a large war in multiple theatres, hence, we need to get troops into strategic locations around the world and build some permanent bases in places like the middle east...the whole plan is outlined in the govt memo "rebuilding americas defenses"...google it. freedom? bah....keep kidding urself into believing its about freedom while you lose more every day.

Uh, the troops do not 'create' freedom for us. Nor has anybody said that, truthfully. They are protecting our freedom to not be blown to bits by camelsucking terrorist scum. They are also protecting the world from the same scum by eliminating governments that support terrorism.

Smarmy word tricks do not win anything. They actually show a level of political immaturity that is sad and pathetic. But very typical of the liberals.

I wouldn't say so many Americans. I would say only a few Americans.

We just don't like our troops to be in foreign countries. However, we are ok with our troops being in between countries on the border. For example, North and South Korea and few other places to keep two countries from destroying each other.

well, your previous question is pretty stupid. Are they not allowed to let off some steam, or have some fun to maintain their sanity?

To answer this question, because so many liberals don't realize if we didn't fight in places like Iraq, that our own nation would be challenged more often with attacks, such as the ones on 9/11.

You know I get tired of hearing this question. The problem is there is just no way to answer this. It's all in the eye of the beholder. Yes we should be fighting a war in the middle east. Democracy is good. Or No, we shouldn't be there because we have enough problems with poverty, education, and housing. I for one respect and applaud anyone who will put themselves in harms way for the sake of my rights and freedom. I hope your decisions are blessed and right. And may god be with you in times of darkness.
