Well lets take a look. First of all I have a couple of Mormon friends and they are very kind people.
Mormons are panthiests (belief in many gods) and Christianity is not. Isaiah 45:5: "I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me. . . . "

mormons believe in the bible only where is agrees with their beliefs. If the bible says something they don't like , they will just say there is a translation error in the bible. The question is, How do they know there is a translation error? They can't answer that one.

Mormons teach Jesus is Lucifer's spirit brother. The bible does not teach that.

Mormons believe that as God is you can become. That is you can become God. Lucifer once believed he could ascend to be come like God. Inorder to believe he could ascend, Lucifer would first have to believe he had ascended/evolved. Check the quote below

Joseph Smith the founder of the Mormon religion declared:

For I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea and take away the veil, so that you may see (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 345.

Not a Christian belief.

These are just some quick differences I remember.

This question seems to go around and around. The answer to the question is, "It depends on your definition of a Christian."

If, by Christian, you mean "holds to certain beliefs shared some faiths such as the Trinity, the Nicean creed, or whatever", then, no, that doesn't describe us. Our beliefs are the original teachings of Jesus Christ, not based on creeds that councils of ministers made up after His death.

If, though, by Christian, you mean "a person who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, worships Him, and tries to follow his teachings", then yes, by all means, we are Christian.

Many people of other faiths claim that we are not Christian because we do not share the same beliefs as they do. Well, every Christian church differs in beliefs from the others. I don't see why that in particular should single us out from the categorization of Christian groups. Isn't that kind of like a Lutheran saying to a Presbyterian that they aren't Christian becasue they don't have all the same beliefs? (Although it's true that we are not a Protestant church...)

If anyone isn't sure about this, all you have to do is talk to a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and ask us whether we believe in Christ. The answer will be a resounding "YES!"

We know that we are different from other churches. But we do believe in Christ. And it seems sometimes hurtful and misleading when people say that we are not Christian because we know that means people out there think that means that we don't believe in Christ, when we do. I don't think it's necessary to have the approval of all the other churches or something, but it's very important that people realize that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the church of Jesus Christ. He is the head of the Church and we worship Him as the Son of God.

Yes. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I don't know why people are afraid to read the Book of Mormon. It supports the Bible completely. Some people stopped reading Harry Potter after the first book, too, even though the author wrote more. I pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and my Savior and Redeemer. Have a happy day.

No, they believe that Jesus came back to the U.S. sometime around the 1800's. If this were true, Christians would be in the New Heaven and non-believers would be experiencing eternal punishment. The fact that both Christians and non-believers are present proves that Mormon doctrine is false.

Funny how many people think they are an expert on LDS, eventhough they practically never enter our chapel or sunday school, where we remembering Jesus Christ in our lessons and Sacrament.

I am a LDS Mormon, I believe in Jesus Christ. And it does not matter whatever other people say we believe or not believe.

Definitely not. You'll notice how every religion considers mormans to be non-Christian except for mormans themselves. They have very twisted beliefs; they added onto the Bible and edited it of the parts they didn't like (strictly forbidden), and Joey Smith himself denied being a Christian.

No. Joe Smith himself denied being Christian.

they're one of many Christian splinter factions

to answer: they accept the Bible as the word of God, along with the Book of Mormon as its sequel. They believe in Jesus. Looks to me like they're Christains with more books.
