i've had one before. i love small dogs and chihuahuas are super cute, but they need LOTS of attention. actually i should have put: they NEED lots of attention. it's not even that they're happier the more you play with them..it's that they require attention almost as much as food. they're very skittish and some can be pretty moody. i'd get one if i was home alot, or lived in a place where it could travel with me. but you can't just pet them every once in awhile, make sure they've got food/water and that be it. if you're a first-time dog owner, i'd go for something that didnt require quite as much mega-quality time.

yes i would get another one. i had one around last christmas and he got stolen, his name was Taz and he was so precious. i loved him so much. if you dont want a chihuahua a cocker spaniel is another good house dog. they dont get that big and they are low maintenence except at the groomers. and another plus for a chihuahua is that if you have astmaha they can help it. they may look like rats on acid but they are some of the most careing dogs. P.S. they also eat WAY less than any big dog.

Yes, I have one, and he is the most amazing dog in the world. He is my soulmate. My parents have two Chihuahua's and they are both awesome too. I take my baby boy everywhere, and he loves his mom to bits!

Not in a million years. Too nervous, nippy, kind of ugly, generally have a nasty temperment.
Miniture Pinschers are cool though - they at least look like dogs, not rats that bark. Schepperke, Fox Terriers, there are tons of great little dogs.

I had one for 14 years. Yes, I would get another. Keep in mind that they have a tendency to bark at everything and are a one person dog.

They are adorable and I have often considered it, but I am a bit turned off by the fact that they have a tendency to bark and be on the hyper side. Still, I wouldn't rule it out.

best little dog around.
They'll love only you.
Warn you when someone, or something is near.
They're very affectionate and live longer than these larger breeds.
Oh and they need lots of attention or they'll find someone els to attach to.

Yes I have one, I love her but some can be territorial. If you get one exposes it to lots of people and different surroundings.
