Niether the old nor new testiments are the word of God.
The bible is a book. A book built on faith. Faith that these men who put it together actually spoke with God. If someone today said they spoke with God they would find him crazy. however today so many believ in blind faith that these words have been translated correctly by these man. That over the 1000's of years that these words have been translated by other men correctly and not changed as in the King James version of the bible.
Versions have changed over the years. If they all were correctly translated then there would be no varience with in them, but there is. Simply because men make mistakes, and men have decide what shoudl be in this book.
There are alos countless scrolls hiden with in the Vatican vaults. All transcribed but not made public. Only a ferw really knwo what those scrolls say. Until the Vatican comes clean, and until the translation are all the same, then this book is like all the others.
I am however a christian, I have read this bible and believe in most of what it says. however when it speaks of hatered I know it is wrong. When priests and "men of God" speak with hatred they are wrong. I am a human being with my own mind and will and I encourage everyone to believe in what they feel is right. Hatred is wrong and Love is right. No matter what the case.

The way I look at it, God didn't send a fax from Heaven saying "this is what I want you to put down in a big book for everyone to read." The Bible is the word of man. And who is to say that those who claim God spoke to them are any better than those who "hear voices" today. People interpret things how they will, and reading the Bible is like reading any other collection of essays written by any other collection of authors about any other subject. It was the opinion of those who wrote it and their interpretation is open to question and scrutiny the same as any one else. By the way, yes I have read every page in the Bible, I was raised in a Christian home, and I have studied religion in college. I am well informed of everything I have stated. But, like the Bible, this is my opinion and it too is open to question and scrutiny.
I would also like to add that the 4 first gospels were, in fact written roughly 65 years after Christs birth and there is no proof that any of those authors were present either at the crucifiction or in the life of Jesus. The Bible was put together by men such as Pope Gregory I, who also gave a sermon which has since been denounced by the Vatican itself, in which he stated that Mary of Magdala (Mary Magdalene) was in fact a whore. This was proven to be completely false and was a pretense set forth by the early church to demote the power of women in the church.
Therefore, take it or what you will, but those who put together the Bible did so with one objective in mind: to retain their power and magnify what they felt was important.

Because the parts of the Bible we DO have were written by men GUIDED by God to write the words..therefore; the word of God.
It's unfortunate that there are so many missing pieces of the Bible. But, then I think about it and since everything happens for a reason, maybe there is a reason God made certain sections "disappear". We won't know until we actually meet the Big Cheese and can ask Him ourselves!

Yes! There were many writings before the actual compilations we now called the Holy Bible. Even in today's works, when a man says something, it is put in quotes to show that some one said something. Likewaise, in the writings before the compilation, they did not claim that they were the words of God. The ones you see that made up the Holy Bible had words consistent with what was said by JESUS CHRIST, HOLY SPIRIT OR GOD. We refer to this as "thus says the Lord". Any writing that does not have this "thus says the Lord." is not acceptable as the word of God.

the gosples left out were gnostic gospels..meaning they didn't "flow" with the old testament because they taught salvation through secret knowledge "gnosis" instead of throught the blood of Christ. The Gnostic gosples were written 100-200 years after Christ so the authors didn't even know Christ These gospels also have many historical and geographical errors. while the 4gospels in the Bible were written by the aposltes of Christ or close friends of the apostles within 40 years of Christs death..so they are more accurate and they were eye-witness acounts of Jesus TRUE teachings. The church inspired by God discarded these Gospels as heresy and un-inspired--which is true. The Apocrypha is a collection of books ORIGINALLY accepted by the Catholic (original) Church around 300-400 A.D. but then Rejected by the Prostestants because it conflicted w/ their agenda.

I'm not saying that there aren't more scriptures (in fact I believe they will fulfil their purpose in time) or that men didn't put all the books together to form the Bible which we know today. I believe also, that some parts are translated incorrectly, but that's a different story...
it's called the Word of God because prophets of God witnessed and wrote and accumulated these reports. they were guided as what to put together and what to reveal and so forth. He oversaw everything =)

Yes, the Bible is the Word of God. The best way to explain it is in the book of John, to paraphrase it the verse says in the beginning the there was the Word and Word was God. . .. . " and so forth. now, if you choose to believe that there are extra books that were tossed aside or voted out of the Bible or whatever historical history is floating out there, then you have to give an account for that. but the best way to find out answers to your question is to read the bible for your self. you will find all you need to know.

It is simply a matter of belief. It most likely cannot ever be proven as fact. That's why the Bible is the basis of a RELIGION, not a SCIENCE. If you're desperate for solid, proven FACT that the Bible is the Word of God, you're gonna come up short. The only ancient document in which you will see it stated that the Bible is the Word of God is.....The Bible itself. There is no other proof, only beliefs and opinions.

Yes there were many books circulating. But the only ones accepted as viable were the ones that are currently in the Bible because their veracity was confirmed by the existence of copies dating back to the late 1st & early 2nd Centuries.
As far as hate is concerned, why would I hate you for your misunderstanding? You may want to arouse my anger for your own amusement but I’m afraid I will disappoint you . I don’t hate anyone and I answer only to God.

The Bible is the word of God. These other books were rejected because they were not. They were rejected by several councils around the year 300 AD.
