Be GLAD! Collies can be terrible barkers! She will probably start barking more as she gets older - at one to two years. Don't encourage her to bark now, or you may be really sorry later!

You're lucky!!! I have an American Stoffordshire and a Blue Pitt. Neither really bark's, but there're 4 & 5 months old. When they do decide to bark it's because one has something the other want's.

I asked my Vet about the barking and she stated some dog's learn off of other dog's. When he or she experience they can bark and it annoy's some people that's when they'll do it all the time.

For now I guess we should be happy!!

I have a German Shepard, Australian Shepard mix who is 5 years old. I have had her for 4 1/2 years and she has only barked 3 times. People say she is a well-mannered, well-behaved dog. When I leave her at home she does not make a sound. The neighbours love her. Appreciate that your dog is quiet and don't try to get her to bark.

It's ok for dogs to be quiet. In fact you may not want to question your good luck. A dog that barks at everything all the time gets old really fast. Just like people, some dogs are quieter than others.

Some dogs just don't. I have a beagle and he barely makes any noise at all most of the time. Yeah, I know, that's really rare for a hound. He only bays or barks when we visit the local dog park. He loves to chase other, mostly larger, dogs and he bays the whole time.

ehehhe believe me your dog is healthy. there is nothing wrong with her. she will bark when there is a reason. either she needs time to adjust to your house, maybe she is scared or as i said there is no reason for her to do that yet.

one of my dogs did the same thing, we though she was deaf and dumb, but the day someone tried to get into our house in the middle of the night, we heard her barking and God knows i was scared :p

2 other dogs we have the first 3 months didn't bark. they were too tired and scared from what they went through before i get them(stray dogs).

I have a small dog that has never barked....she growls when she is outside in darkness but has never barked. Does he play with other dogs? I tried that to see if she would but she does not bark....great for me when I lived in an apt.

I have an IG that rarely barks. Some dogs just don't bark much. I agree that you should have her checked at a vet just in case but you may have just gotten lucky!

Can we trade (beagle)? In all seriousness, I worked for a vet for a long time. When's the last time the dog had a check up? Take her in if she's due and have then do an x-ray on her head/neck area. She may have an obstruction. Or she may be fine, and you got lucky!

if the puppy was taken away from its mom to early then she may have not taught it to bark. or it may just be retarted. i am not saying it is but my friend had a dog that really was retarted and it didnt know how to bark. poor doofy(dogs name was doofy). or your dog may just be the quite type. if it is your so lucky and ill trade u my black lab for it if you do want a dog that barks. omg he barks all night long.
