This guy I talk to but I dont know if he's the right one for me. He seems nice and all but I don't want to just open up to him and then everything goes down hill if you know what I mean. I dont know what to get from him or clues that can tell if he's true.

You should have the ideal expectations like:
-good job
-you're attracted
-he doesn't pressure you into anything you don't want
-he seems to look out for your well-being
-respects you and your decisions
-doesn't make you feel guilty if you don't do anything he doesn't want.
-is real sweet
-has ambitions
-has a life other than you
-gets its straight
-gets along with others (boss, mom and dad, etc. friends, co-workers)... and alot more.
Then, once you've checked all of these expectations, then that's the time you'll know.

Issues of the hearts,is no mathematics...,i perceived that you are in doubts...I would advise and advice that you take all the necessary precautions,pass him through the litmus text and follow your heart.
And food for thoughts..."Most people we tend to doubt and ignore...,maybe the best friend we may never have, as still as those we've often trust and give our all have dissapointed us the most"

well if he and u have the same feelings then he is the right pne but don't go with the first one it takes a while to know who will be the right guy for u

Getting to know someone involves vulnerability. You won't know if he's right for you until you take the plunge and get to know him. He could turn out to be your life partner, or he could turn out to be totally incompatible. If that's the case, you move on.
