Jesus gave us an example to follow in two places. It's the same prayer. But you don't have to use it's words, just use it as an outline. Look at Matthew 6:9-13, or Luke 11:2-4.

"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name." Notice how the beginning of the prayer praises God and honors Him. In your own prayers, you will want to do the same in your own words.

"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." Next, we ask that God's will be done. We ask that it be done on earth as it is in Heaven. In Heaven, no one disputes with God. There is no debate, no negotiating. This should be our heartfelt desire as well.

"Give us this day our daily bread." Now we ask for God's gracious provision. We ask Him to supply us. This is where you will want to express the desires of your heart.

"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." This part makes so many uncomfortable. That is because this part is conditional. We ask for our sins to be forgiven as (or, in the same way) we have forgiven others.

"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" This is where we ask for divine guidance and protection from our flesh and the powers of the evil one.

"For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." We finish our prayer by glorifying God once again--a fitting end to any prayer.

I hope that helps!

God is very easy to pray to...simply speak to God as if you were talking to an old and trusted friend whom you could tell anything to...believe me...He really DOES listen.

If you want to follow Jesus...then simply ask for His help in showing you how to follow Him.
If you're sincere, take some time to read the Bible and learn about the life of Jesus which is contained in the New Testament. You don't have to sit down and read the entire Bible from cover to cover. Read parts of it on a daily basis.

Gradually, you will begin to become aware of little out-of-the-ordinary things happening that will begin to show you that He has heard you, and that He is reaching out to you.

When you first wake in the morning, simply say a quiet prayer of thanks to God that you are alive, and ask for His help and guidance through your day.
When you go to bed at night, thank Him for his help throughout your day, and ask Him to forgive you if you've acted badly or selfishly towards anyone during the course of your day. You can also ask Him to bless and look after those whom you love and care about.

And remember...
God always shows Himself to those who seek Him with sincerity.

You follow by asking God to forgive you and acknowledging that Jesus did for our sins and asking him to come into your heart. Then you read the Bible and ask questions, go to church and do your best to walk with God. Always ask him to guide you and help you to make decisions. When you pray, just talk to him. There is no right way to pray.

Follow Jesus? Getting to your knees and admitting that you are a sinner and need a savior. Believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God that died in your place for every sin you'll ever commit. Believe that our Father in Heaven raised him from the dead.

Praying to God/Jesus is one in the same. They are of the same entity...I typically pray to God in Jesus name. The Lord's Prayer "...Our Father who art in Heaven..." is a guideline. It's a great start, but just saying THAT is ritualistic unless you speak with your heart. Talk to God as a friend.

A good way to follow Jesus is to first get a Strong Christian to be your mentor, maybe the pastor of a Christian church. They will walk you through. Pray to God just being open and yourself, just talk to God, cry to God, whatever it's about that relationship with God.

I believe that you first must accept Jesus as your savior by knowing that he died on the cross for your sins. Repent your sins to him and ask him for forgiveness. Then try to be the best person you can be and follow in his footsteps including by being nice to everyone and not judging others.

You talk to God just as you would talk to anyone else. He is always with you. Ask him for guidance to help you make the right decisions and to help you to be the best you can be. You will still continue to sin and Jesus will continue to forgive you and guide you. He is your best friend and you will never receive a greater gift than Jesus gave you.

When you follow Jesus, you simply try your best to live your life as he has instructed. When you pray, try just having a conversation with God. Talk to him like you would a friend.

Simple answer? Read Acts Chapter One and Two and then have an earnest discussion with God. If you are serious you are on your way. You will absolutely know when you receive the Holy Spirit and it will absolutely change your life. If you are just kicking the tires you may or may not receive anything.
The deal is that time is running short. Just switch on CNN or FoxNews.

God won't be able to take a seat at his own excellent facet. He does not pray to himself. He does not say he's doing the favor of the only which despatched him. He may recognize the day and hour that God replaced into going to commence Armageddon. He does not say he has forsaken himself. He does not say "it really is my son, the only I have licensed. even as he died, who replaced into it that resurrected him. The Bible says that God exalted Jesus yet why may he exalt himself? Jesus suggested God replaced into more suitable than he. Jesus by no skill requested for everyone to worship him. If God prays how can he be God? If Jesus is God why did he ought to get baptized? If Jesus is God , in who's call replaced into he baptized in? How did Jesus receive the Holy Spirit if he's likewise God & the Holy Spirit ? If Jesus is God who replaced into it that he prayed too to keep him from lack of life? Himself? Hebrews 5:7 Did all and distinctive that said Jesus die? (Exodus 33:20) . . .“you at the prompt are unable to work out my face, because no guy may even see me and yet stay.” And God isn't a God of bewilderment? because Jesus isn't God. isn't it impressive how actual the Bible refutes some teachings even as they haven't any Biblical foundation? Why did Jesus recieve a 'more advantageous' posistion from the daddy if he replaced into God? (Phil. 2:9) If the Trinity skill 'co-equivalent' and 'co-eternal' this may advise that God, Christ and the Holy Spirit were ALL co-equivalent....up till this scripture. Now, in accordance to this scripture Jesus has a 'more advantageous' position........more suitable more advantageous to the only he had beforehand it replaced into 'given' to him. So if the Bible AND the Trinity are both genuine, this may advise that Jesus is now larger in posistion interior the Trinity than the daddy and Holy Spirit - considering beforehand this scripture they were ALL 'co-equivalent'. How ought to this be plausible? curiously both the Bible is incorrect or the Trinity doctrine is incorrect....i ask your self which one?
