Just use some conditioner and keep it wet for a while and let it naturally dry, don't use a hair dryer of any kind. Also don't use any hair spray or anything. Eventually the conditioner will soften your hair up. Sometimes the dye bonds to your hair making it "crisp" it's really annoying.

You need a deep conditioner that you can use once a week. Dove and Pantene both have good ones, and there are several "hair masques" that are really good, yet under $7. All of them work on the same principle and you won't go wrong with any of them.
Use it every week and the next time you get highlights, don't let them use bleach on your hair. It's obviously too strong for your hair and will only lead to breakage the next time you highlight.

just use lots of conditioner for color treated hair. right now your hair is fried from the chemicals in the dye. the best conditioners i've used are Aussie, Ganier Fructis, and Dove. you can find them all at a drug store or like Wal-Mart, Meijer, Target, K-Mart, whatever store you have. they're pretty cheap and if you only buy the conditioner i'd say no more than $5.00 if that. if those don't work try a Sally's Beauty Supply store and ask someone there for help. stuff there is fairly cheap too.

You should try a leave in conditioner, I prefur Infusium 23 (it's about $4 - $5 at Sally's beauty supply). You should also try deep conditioning your hair once a week(untill it gets a bit better & then start doing it every other & then just once a month). Cholesterol is a really good deep conditioner & it's only about $3 & sold at most drug stores or you can get it at Sally's beauty supply. You should also try washing your hair every other day to help keep it from drying out.

Condition condition condition!!!
Try a deep conditioner too. Rinse most of it out but not all of it. Don't wash your hair for a few days. It will dry it out even more.
I like Bumble and Bumble products.
Also, a great serum is back to basics. It fells so silky.
I could go on and on. I have these problems too, but I know several ways to end them.
Good luck.

it certainly relies upon on your hair. no longer your friends hair. you have distinctive textures maximum possibly. if your hair is broken precise now, do no longer do it. circulate to a salon and see what they think of first. Then make yet another appt. to have them do the highlights, in the event that they gave you the ok. sure there are the thank you to maintain your hair moisturized, use some products made in straightforward terms for hair that has been bleached or colored that needs to stay wholesome.
