This is a conundrum. The original sin had to do with passing judgment. I would have to judge Jesus, to give a proper answer. That would indicate my fallen state. Which is the purpose of the exercise. The beginning of Christs ministry, was the beginning of a world-wide judgement.

John stood as the last in a long line of prophets, and illustrates how the Law and the Prophets brought us to that Judgement.

Jesus was born with NO SIN. He was baptized by John to show that he was humble, and that it is good to get baptized to get all your sins, and old body washed clean (when you go under the water) and then you have a new body, with no sin.(when you come up from the water.) Besides Jesus is the best teacher ever, and in order to prove people a point you have to lead by example and that is what he did!!!!

JESUS ROCKS!

Jesus was baptized to set an example and to bring the Holy Spirit to earth.

"13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. 14 John would have prevented him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" 15 But Jesus answered him, "Let it be so now; for thus it is fitting for us to fulfil all righteousness." Then he consented. 16 And when Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and alighting on him; 17 and lo, a voice from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

Good question .. but no.

Read the Gospel of Matthew's account of Jesus' baptism. It says that John hesitated to baptize Jesus -- in fact, He pretty much refused to do it, but Jesus insisted on it, for no particular reason that the Gospel tells us.

John's reaction to Jesus' request that he baptize Him, all by itself, indicates that Jesus did not need baptism because He was not afflicted with original sin.

He became baptized, in short, to become more "one with us."

Jesus was sinless, Jesus was baptized to set an example for us, but remember, the water you are baptized in have has no power to save your soul, Jesus entering your heart saves your soul, the baptism is just an outward expression of an inward change.

Jesus was without sin. That is why he was different that us. He is fully human and fully God. John the Baptist prepared the way for our Savior, Jesus Christ to come.

No. We inherit sin from our father, not our mother. His seed or blood line contaminates us. The blood is determined by the father. Any doctor or student of biology will tel you that.
Jesus was baptized to show the Jews that they needed to wash their sins away.

No, Jesus was born without sin. Jesus set himself as an example for his believers to follow him in the act of baptism.

It was an anointment for God's service. After he was baptizing, the spirit of the Lord descended on him and he went right away into the wilderness to be tempted and to start his ministry.

No... and he was baptized with the Holy Spirit, (not to wash away His sins).
