Antique Skeleton Key from the Waldorf-Astoria.?

I have an old copper key from the Waldorf-Astoria. I want to find out when they were in use up to what date and if this belongs to the original hotel. Does anyone know where I may find this out? I have seen Antique SIlver and porcelin but not keys anywhere.

I would contact the Waldorf for info. That may be a pretty historic item in their eyes!
