First of all you are a lire!! there has been migration north for hundreds of years way b4 welfare, and second, I will tell it once again, illegal immigrants are not allowed to receive benefits of any kind, no welfare no food stamps nothing!! I know this for a fact!! If an illegal immigrant gets seen in a emergency room, they pay the bill later, they don't get seen for free, even if an illegal immigrant is married to an American they don't receive food stamps even if the wife qualifies. Plantation owners didn't pay workers any wage. When all plantations became known as farms, Farm owners found people willing to work for wages slightly higher than $0, these workers weren't forced here, so it wasn't slavery, being PC, the Farmers paid cash to migrant workers. The Plantation owner's excuse for needing slave labor was to keep the price of cotton low. The Farm owner's excuse for needing migrant worker labor is to keep the price of fruits & veggies low. Migrant labor is now used to lower wages in various low skilled positions.

There has been northward migration long before welfare. Mainly for jobs created by industry. (assuming you are talking about the U.S.) If you are talking of Mexican migration we have had migrant workers in the U.S. for many many years. Check you history books. You have heard of the Underground Railroad haven't you? That also was a northward migration of people from withoin the U.S.

Because people from other countries weren't rushing here just to take advantage of the system. Back then, we wouldn't have stood for that crap. Also, when people came here, we were more so able to control the amount of people coming in the country that way we wouldn't have an overload.

There's a new law here in AZ that prohibits anyone who's here illegally to ask for any government benefits (food stamps, medical, etc) Everyday hundreds of illegals come here, and the ones that are here are not leaving, so please stop saying that the only reason they come here is to abuse the system.
