Where are some good hotels to stay at that are decent priced, but not in a bad area? Also, my brother lives in North Hollywood, so I would like to stay as close to that area as possible. If anyone has any suggestions...Thanks.

I live in North Hollywood too!! While here, you can go down Lankershim to Universal Studios and Universal City Walk. Also, the NBC studios on Olive in Burbank has cool tours and you might be able to catch a taping of The Tonight Show.

OK here are 4 budget hotels/motels in North Hollywood

Peppertree Inn
5909 Lankershim Blvd
North Hollywood, CA 91601
(818) 763-6959

Western Villiage Hotel
10822 Magnolia Blvd
North Hollywood, CA 91601
(818) 763-4374

Budget Host Colony Inn
4917 Vineland Ave
North Hollywood, CA 91601
(818) 763-2787

Econo Inn
10750 Magnolia Blvd
North Hollywood, CA 91601
(818) 769-8434

Or if you want something a little nicer, there is:
Beverly Garland's Holiday Inn
4222 Vineland Avenue
North Hollywood, CA 91602-3399

A good option is the Beverly Terrace:

The Beverly Terrace is a superior tourist class, comfortable, motor hotel located at Doheny and Santa Monica Boulevard between Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Guest will find that the hotel offers basic rooms with all modern amenities that provide a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. A continental breakfast is served outside by the pool, a great way to start a day of enjoying the attractions of LA and Southern California. Trattoria Amici, the on-site Italian restaurant, is known to attract some of the neighborhood's high-profile clientele. The hotel is minutes to fine dining, shopping, and entertainment.

It's where Beverly Hills and Hollywood meet.

Good luck.

As far as price, location and the nice factor I would go with the Radisson in West Hollywood.

I personally like the Sheraton Hotel. I went there for my prom and I think it's a nice place to stay.
