To all who do not understand this system, know this, everyone can not be a doctor or a lawyer or a soldier or rich. The world needs people of all classes to function, however, it is not that if you were born in a so called lower class that you can not aspire to be in the upper. It is very possible and acceptable in this 'cast system' you keep labeling as Hinduism 's drawback. Learn to understand it before condeming it. How the West views it is of their own ignorance.

Explain to me exactly how a system originally designed to keep the natives of India from rising up against and overthrowing their Aryan conquerors is perfection. The cast system was first set up to put those few treacherous natives who benefited from the occupation in power while subjugating all the rest.
Oh yes, I know my history.
To say that the Hindu cast system is perfection is synonymous with saying that oppression of the People is perfection.

So it's the exact opposite of the "American dream" where with enough hard work anybody can rise from rags to riches.

That sounds like a horrible system to live under. No wonder hindu nations are so backwards.

I don’t think it is perfection. If your family was poor, then your chances of moving up to a higher caste is next to zero.

If I was Hindu, I would have it made. I am white-collar worker, so I am of a very high caste. But I was born to a very poor family. So I would have been in a very low caste.

Sure, its pefection, as long as you're not an untouchable, or any of the other lower castes. It's one of those painfully unfair and wrong systems.
