With such a small amount of weight loss, you shouldn't notice any slackening of your skin. Even if one loses, say, 50% of their body weight from 400 lb to 200 lb, skin slackening usually does not occur. It is only rapid, uncontrolled weight loss that can cause such things to happen. Make sure you check with your doctor before you begin losing weight; that way he can ensure that you do it the right way. Even the range of weight loss you described can be dangerous for some people if it is done too rapidly. He would also be the best choice to ask about your skin.

It's not likely that you will have loose skin. Being young is your best friend. Make sure you drink PLENTY of water (at least the standard 8 x 8oz glasses a day) and do some light weight training to speed up your metabolism by building lean mass.
Generally, the problem of loose skin comes about with the obese and elderly.

Loose and hanging skin occurs with massive weight loss, over 100 pounds in a short amount of time. Loose skin is generally a problem in older people or heavy smokers who have lost the elestilcity of their skin. The worst problem would be temporary mild stretch around the areas where the greatest fat accumulation ocurs, i.e. lovehandles, abdomen, etc.

I have lost fifteen to twenty pounds over the years and have never had loose skin hanging. Everyone's body is different which is why you got different answers from people.
I would expect hanging skin from someone who was obese and lost a hundred pounds, I guess.
If you exercise regularly, three or four times a week, your body will get nicely toned. If you are young I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I think actually it depends on where the 15-37 pounds is. I mean are your legs and arms skinny and the weight is sitting on your stomach. If that is the case, then you could have the skin issue. However, if it evenly proportioned around your body, then you shouldn't. On your stomach though, just lose the weight slowly so that your skin can gradually make the change with your changing body. When people lose too much too fast is when they start having the skin problem.

Taken directly from the link below.
Losing weight too rapidly can have negative effects on your health and well-being. Losing weight at a rate faster than an average of two pounds per week (after the first three weeks) can lead to:
1. An increased risk for developing gallstones
2. Dry skin and/or hair loss
3. Electrolyte ( fluid ) imbalances
Women who lose weight at afast rate are also prone to menstrual irregularities.
In addition, many studies have shown that RAPID WEIGHT LOSS is almost always followed by WEIGHT GAIN.

There is big difference between fifteen and thirty-seven pounds. If the loss in evenly distributed and not from sites such as abdomen and buttocks the skin tone might be maintained. Flab under the upper arms also occurs, but you might be all right.

depending on how young, your skin keeps its elasticity very well!! which means that if you loose the amount of weight you are talking about there should be no problem with your skin not sagging! that is a quite common problem with excessive weight loss, very quick in older adults! but under rare examples in people not that old , yet. Go for it and you "ll be fine!

Your skin only has so much elasticity. It's like a rubber band you keep stretching, eventually,it won't go back. Other than surgery,it really IS the only TRUE way. You might try skin firming creams, but, they'd be a waste of money, but,up to you
