Don't try and pull any of that hippy Jesus 'love your enemy' nonsense.

I ruled out Hippy Jesus' love your enemy thing, because I was trying to do you a favor. By calling us your enemies, you aren't exactly making us want to love you.
So try and find somewhere else in the bible that says it. Maybe you should look in the Old Testament and see what it has to say on the subject.

Love for Enemies
43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies[b] and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

If you love God you will love God's children, who are your brothers. All of your brothers, even those who do you wrong and those who do and believe the wrong thing. Jesus says "Let you who are without sin cast the first stone". And calling anything that Jesus says hippy nonsense is blasphemy, so if I were you I'd chill with that. If you are a real christian you would treat everyone with respect, just because they're a human being made by God, whether the bible tells you to do it or not. You do not have the right to judge anyone, because you are not God, and because you are a sinner yourself.

From your tone, I take you for a Christian, so here is the answer you should have been able to find in your own book:

Even when disputing/dialoguing over prominent doctrines, a Christian should exercise restraint and show respect. It is one thing to disagree with a position; it is quite another to disparage a person. Christians must hold fast to their "Truth" while showing compassion to those who question it. Like Jesus, they must be full of grace and truth both (John 1:14).

Your boy Peter strikes a good balance between having the answer and having humility: “Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:15).

to answer your question the old testament does say we are to love our neighbors. now you and i might not live nest to one another but jesus brought this whole love thy neibor thing into perspective in the book of luke chapter10:25-37 you can read it for youself but ill give you a condensed version basically a guy fell among the thieves they robbed him stripped him and left him for dead in the street afterwards a priest ,and a levite came and walked right past him and never offered any help but then a samaritian walked past and stopped to help him then jesus asked the question which now of these three thinkest thou was a neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves? obviously the samaritian was being a neighbor to him. they didnt live next to each other to classify as being actual neighbors but its the act of caring that the samaritian showed that was the key. next thing having love for someone and respect dont always go hand in hand you can respect someone and not have love for them but you can love (true love) and it has respect. as far as the atheist and other religions comment, the bible doesnt say anywhere that christians or believers should respect or acknowledge any other religion actually 2john verses 9-10 says whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. he that abideth in the doctrine of Christhe hath both the father and son if there come any unto you and bring not this doctrine receive him not into your house neither bid him Godspeed verse 11for he that biddeth him Godspeed is a partaker of his evil deeds. friend i can pray for you love you respect you or whatever but the one thing i cant do if i was to be a true christian is not even consider one small belief of any other religion the bible says any other religion besides Jesus Christ is a false religion. im not saying this to ruffle any feathers im just answering the question my opinion is based off what the bible teaches if you choose not to believe it that your choice to make you and only you will have to deal with the consequences of your decisions just like me. ill admit alot of so called christians will rather down a person or condem them rather than help them but those people are not real repersentives of christianity and what it means. i hope this answers your question. true christians has to stand on what the bible teaches even if it means upsetting someone else even our own families God and his teaching has to come first above all things. if i was to say something just to tickle your ears and it wasnt biblically backed up then i would be breaking the 1st commandment i wouldnt be putting God first thats why most christians are stubborn in these situations the problem is they just dont realize sometimes the do more harm than good

it teaches you are to treat foreigners with respect. and to anyone outside your personal household they are foreigners, so always treat everybody with respect. I command it.

you go to heaven if you have a funeral

LORD GOD TODD=TRUE

add both sides of equation up till each side is one letter each and you see that that equation is TRUE. and government of canada and Peguis First Nation both acknowledge Me as TODD. so read that in the bible god was hated. I reveal to you that is Me. I want you to know that i occaissionally feel depressed because the angels are all sentenced to hell by Me. cause they rebelled against the principles of the bible. so in my opiion you shall go to heaven no matter what a preist says, they can't speak for Me.

Worship no god but ME

ME=IVI stitched together [iL
Me=IVI stitched together e(e=arm)

so god can only be proved over time meant

MARCH APRIL MAY shows a description of H and god=g+o+d=7+15+4=26=2+6=8=H and that picture is proof that bible said god promises a visitation to earth, so Here I AM. (ex3.14) i am=iarri(stitched together) and whether you beleive it or not I AM the true Lamb SLAIN(Larrib SIL A I IV) but you rejected that so i might let the church continue to rule with murderous authority like the past.

None of them.
It does say that Jesus is the only way to the Father, and he who rejects Jesus rejects the Father. Jesus didn't dance around any of these issues. He scolded the religious leaders of His time for leading others astray. He told everyone that "He is the only way." And for people who don't believe in Him? They don't make it to heaven, plain and simple.
He didn't have much tolerance, but he did send others out to tell people who didn't know about Him, the good news. The atheists and others who didn't believe then, and who don't believe now don't make it to heaven, and are not to be respected. He even tells us in the Scriptures to not be "unequally yoked" to an unbeliever. That is, Christians (those who believe in Jesus) are not to be married to , or attached to permanently to someone who doesn't believe the same way.
Other religions? As long as they recognize God as the Father and Jesus as the Son of God, they're fine.

Since this is 2006, I won't pull any hippie nonsense.

The truth is this, we are followers of Christ's teachings. We love and honor his commandments. In order to please Him, we follow these commandments and are rewarded each day. This commandment is the real truth that you are looking for in your question.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (Jesus as quoted by John 13:34-35)

Good point! I've also just checked and couldn't find a single verse that said to treat idiots with respect either. Wow, the things you learn on this forum.
