I consider anything without sauce or that's not particurlarly sticky that is no larger than the size of my thumb as finger-food acceptable. Fried chicken, finger food too. As well as ribs. I'd love to know how someone eats a leg of chicken with a knife and fork. *rolls eyes*

Anything that isn't served on a plate. Does that make sense? Finger foods are typically served on a tray by a waiter or a caterer, or they are served on a large tray that you help yourself to.

When in doubt, eat with a utensil rather than with your fingers, even those foods (like french fries) that you may eat by hand at home. If something is served toyou on a plate, you should use utensils!

Chicken, or any other meat with a bone, is not finger food; you should use the knife and fork.

Hope this helps!

If it is unduly difficult or messy to get a mouthful from the main food, then it is not fingerfood. Steak is unduly difficult. Spaghetti is unduly messy. Ribs seem to be an exception!
