As a Christian who holds a post-graduate degree, I disagree. I've been exposed to the best theories and philosophies that science and society have to offer, but have yet to find anything that could sufficiently demonstrate the non-existence of God.
Now you make an important correlation... more education is usually associated with fewer religious practices. However, any social scientist can tell you that correlation is not causation. If we were to take correlation as a reason for causation, then people would be right to assume that the fact that there are more minorities in prison than white people to mean that minorities are more evil and aggressive (I'm Latino, by the way). You can see where the issue lies with tying correlation and causation.
Because more educated individuals are less likely to practice religion doesn't mean that those who practice religion are ignorant. I would be more inclined to say that people who are exposed to different ideas are less likely to hold onto ideas/notions that they had that were not well-thought-out. Unfortunately, most people who adopt a religious philosophy don't always think out why they believe what they believe, so when they are exposed to an organized ideology that counters their uninformed beliefs, they are likely to let it go.

Well, that all depends. Now that universities are vast bastions for secular humanism and liberalism, I'd say that the possibility is there.
But, then again, most colleges and universities in the U.S. were started by very religious, very educated people. Harvard for example, was established so "To advance Learning and perpetuate it to Posterity; dreading to leave an illiterate Ministry to the Churches."
It was after Harvard was separated from the church that it became secularized. This is the case with many schools today. Of course, state schools never had the religious influences to begin with.
Nevertheless, many Christians somehow survive the assault on their faith while in school, and continue to grow in it. Others choose schools that are not ashamed of their religious affiliations, and produce thousands of graduates every year.
Patrick Henry College, Regent University, and Liberty University manage to win competitions in debate and/or moot court year after year, beating out other schools, such as Harvard. (I guess no one told the stupid Christians there they were supposed to be idiots.)

Wow -- where do I start?
For one thing, there are well-educated people and not-so-well educated people on both sides of the fence -- on the believing side and on the nonbelieving side.
Second, what is "more education" anyway? Is the number of degrees, or the level of one's degree, always indicative of their true intelligence?
There are lots of smart people out there who don't have a college degree, for one reason or another -- lack of money, lack of time, lack of interest in studying, whatever.
According to your logic, I was an idiot until I was 31 years old, when I earned by college degree.
Before that I served in the Navy, had a daughter, held three respectable jobs, and helped support my mother while I was going to school at night -- but I was an idiot in your book anyway.

The assumption is that to be religious you must practice a ritual or openly establish faith. This is a false assumption for your hypothesis. It has no merit. Educated individuals more likely practice less of the rituals based on superstition or added to their faith to encourage converts (Christmas started as a Mithraic holiday, you know).

There's a difference between intelligence and education. Only a fool can't see the difference. I know plenty of people that only have a high school education that are very bright and a few are millionaires.

You just violated your own rule. More educated people wouldnt be posting such a void statement in the guise of a question.
What does your mother say about these rules? Is she like we (as you called us) religious idiots? What about your grandmother?

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
just a few tidbits of what God has to say about man's view of intelligence.
