I keep trying to go darker and it keeps getting lighter! How long should I wait to re-color?

I do mine every two months or so, depending on how fast it fades.
I have never heard of that one. I'd wait at least a few days before you recolor....I week or two would be better. I also suggest not using a permanent color. Try using a Demi permanent color, they don't lift color they just deposite (meaning they wont lighten the hair), they last about as long as permanent color as well. You could even use a temporary color (one that washes out in so many shampoos) they don't actually "dye" the hair they just coat it.

I color my hair every other month, just for the fun of it. I like keeping my hair a few shades lighter than my ever increasingly darkening hair. I touch up the roots as often as every 3-4 weeks.

Go a shade darker. I color my hair every (try) month. Try not to wash your hair with hot water, instead use lukewarm. Hot water is too harsh and will strip the color faster.

4 weeks. I get highlights once a month and my hair dresser says my hair is as healthy as can be. I don't know if its different if your dying your whole head but no earlier than 2 weeks. Oh and make sure you use the conditioner that comes with the dye, save a little and use it everyday untill its gone.

2 months & try alittle darker look at the side of the box it shows you what color you'll get using the dye.Good Luck

wait like 2 months. if you do it too much. itll ruin your hair big time. if it keeps getting lighter. dye it one or two shades darker then you want it.

Color my hair? No way... I like who I am and the color of my hair. Too much focus on appearance these days.... just keep it clean and tidy!!

It's probably from the sun. Try to keep your hair away from the sun and buy some sunscreen for your hair (yes it does exist).

you should wait 8 weeks before you color your hair again.
