I agree with you. I think it came from Man , because they needed God to be a Man. that is what Men worshiped most. their Man hood. and there were so many Goddesses they probably wanted the Supreme God not to be a woman, You are Right God is a Spirit not flesh and has no Gender.

He is not, at least in Islam. Allah is not portrayed as man. In fact, He is not portrayed as anything because no one is supposed to have seen Him. He is not like us humans. He is neither female nor male. He has no parents and no children. There was no one before Him and no one will be after Him. He is the one and only absolute ruler of all.
That is why one the most fundamental differences between Christians and Muslims is that Muslims never call Jesus the Son of God.

I think because most of the religious scholars that are credited with writing the bible were men. There has been this double standard thing since the beginning of time. For me the perfect god would have both masculine and feminine traits as is believed in most cultures throughout the world. Maybe, just maybe, that is why the Catholic Church has the Jesus/Mary thing going on. Many cultures have feminine and masculine gods. According I have always believed that there is but 1 god but with many faces varying by culture of origin.

Because when the images were set, everyone thought that women were inferior beings. Kind of makes me wonder how far I should trust the sacred texts on everything else.
The Creator is neither man, nor woman, not it. Or maybe all three at once. A divine being is technically above all that.

If you look at the fact man is made in God's image that would show he is masculine. Also God refers to himself as he. Further more women(Eve) is the first to come from men and from that she was taken from the side to be an equal. Though God is a he women are not lower then men.

Back in those days, men were superior to women - I guess everyone just assumed that God was a male. Only Jesus, while on earth, took on the appearance of a man.

I don't. God is the supreme creator. God is neither a he nor a she, but per the Bible we were created in God's image, so in a way we are all God-like. We are not God, don't get it confused.

i won't have the ability to chat for many faiths, yet for Christianity i might say that it is probable via fact Jesus became into male. additionally, depictions of him/her/it are continuously male, so while somebody grows up surrounded via photos of a male god, they're going to rapidly think of of god as a guy. additionally, i think of that as quickly as lots of those religions have been being formed, men have been the dominant gender. As for woman gods, the only ones i will think of of come from religions that died a protracted time in the past. Sorry. :(

He is neither. God is spirit. He has no body, but our minds cannot deal with that concept. That is why we usually represent Him as a person. Look for the TV show "Joan of Arcadia"
