i have had headaches since my preteens. I got my eyes checked because i experience a dull pain at the back of my eyes. they are normal, and i am using "strain" glasses. the doctor ruled out the possiblity of migraine, since no particular foods or smells trigger my headaches, nor do i see auras and hear noises. i don't have symptoms of a sinus headache either.
( i am not taking any other medication.)
generally only the top of my head hurts, accompanied by my eyes feeling weak.

thanks everyone who has answered till now. i forgot to add that often along with severe headaches, i also feel disoriented. i get very scared at such time, especially when i'm out.
are cat scans costly?
also, can this be hereditary, cause my grand mother used to suffer from headaches. but she also had diabetes and high blood pressure.

I get something similar and yes was found to be a medical mystery. I have found cold ice packs help with the pain, dimming or turning off the lights. I also went to the health food store and got a "migrastick" which is all natural aromotherapy of lavender & pepermint that you just roll over your temples and forehead which take alot of the painful edge off the headache. Best of luck to you.

When you do not rest enough, you get headaches. When you are stressed from work, you get long-term headaches. I don't really know the types but i believe that everyone has experienced headache at least once so we will know the consequences.

Have you ever had a cat scan or been to the chiropractor?
Back problems like pinched nerves or back being out of adjustment can cause headaches. I would suggest another eye doctor or cat scan.
